The 2023 Australian Open – Men's singles qualifying was a series of tennis matches that took place from 9 to 12 January 2023 to determine the sixteen qualifiers into the main draw of the men's singles tournament, and, if necessary, the lucky losers. Rafael Nadal is the defending champion. Nine-time champion Novak Djokovic is vying to equal Nadal's all-time record of 22 men's major singles titles, and is attempting to be the first male player to have ten Australian Open wins, the second male player to have ten wins in a single major after Nadal in the 2017 French Open. Carlos Alcaraz, Casper Ruud, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Djokovic are in contention for the world No.1 ranking at the start of the tournament, either Alcaraz or Ruud can reach the fourth round and finals, respectively.
