2023 Archery World Cup
The 2023 Archery World Cup, also known as the Hyundai Archery World Cup for sponsorship reasons, is the 17th edition of the international archery circuit organised annually by World Archery. Archery World Cup
The Archery World Cup is a competition, started in 2006, organized by the World Archery Federation, where the archers compete in four stages in four countries and the best eight archers of each category (from 2010, four archers during 2006-09) advance to an additional stage to contest the Archery World Cup Final. This form of competition was introduced following the success of the 2003 World Archery Championships in New York and the 2004 Summer Olympics with the intent of making the sport more popular and attractive to spectators, with the matches being held in 'spectacular' locations and the final matches being broadcast online. It has received plaudits for its innovative approach to the sport, raising its profile and reach. Oh Jin-hyek
Oh Jin-hyek ( ko, 오진혁; , Hanja: 吳真爀; born 15 August 1981) is a South Korean archer. Oh first competed for the Korean national team in 1999, but did not win a major individual international tournament until he won the gold medal in the Men's individual event at the 2012 Summer Olympics, also becoming the first Korean male archer to win an Olympic individual gold medal. With partners Im Dong-hyun and Kim Bub-min, he also finished in third place in the Men's team event. He was the world number one ranked archer from April 2013 to June 2014, winning the individual gold medal at the 2013 Archery World Cup Final and two individual silver medals at the 2011 and 2013 World Championships. Dhiraj Bommadevara
Bommadevara Dhiraj (born 3 September 2001) is an Indian archer from Andhra Pradesh. He represents India in the recurve men's individual and team events. In the recurve men, he is ranked 15th in the World Rankings. He is selected to represent Indian the 2022 Asian Games at Hangzhou, China. The Indian Men's recurve team consisting of Atanu Das, Dhiraj Bommadevara and Tushar Shelke won the silver medal at the 2022 Asian Games. They lost the final to Republic of Korea. Personal life Dhiraj is from Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. His father Bommadevara Shravan Kumar used to a technical official of the Archery Association of India. He studied for a degree at the SRR and CVR Government Degree College, Vijayawada. He started archery at the Volga Archery Academy in Vijayawada in 2006.
