2023 All-Australian Team
The 2023 All-Australian team represents the best performed Australian Football League (AFL) players during the 2023 season. It was announced on 30 August as a complete Australian rules football team of 22 players. The team is honorary and does not play any games. Selection panel The selection panel for the 2023 All-Australian team consisted of chairman Gillon McLachlan, Eddie Betts, Jude Bolton, Nathan Buckley, Kane Cornes, Andrew Dillon, Glen Jakovich, Laura Kane, Cameron Ling, and Matthew Pavlich. Team Initial squad The initial 44-man All-Australian squad was announced on 28 August, with all eighteen clubs supplying at least one nominee. Final team The final team was announced on Wednesday, 30 August. Note: the position of coach in the All-Australian team is traditionally awarded to the coach of the premiership team. All-Australian Team
The All-Australian team is an all-star team of Australian rules football in Australia, Australian rules footballers, selected by a panel at the end of each season. It represents a complete team, including an interchange bench, of the best-performed players during the season, led by that season's premiership coach. Despite its nature, the All-Australian team is only ceremonial. Though the AFL played an All-Star match in 2020, it was the first in 12 years, and the difference in skill level between the All-Australian team and the nearest international competitor is currently too large for any contest to be competitive. Charlie Mark Cameron (born 5 July 1994) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). He previously played for the Adelaide Football Club from 2014 to 2017. Cameron was taken with pick 7 in the 2013 rookie draft by Adelaide. Early life Cameron was born in Mount Isa, Queensland into an Aboriginal Australian family ( Lardil and Waanyi). He attended primary school in Mornington Island, Queensland before moving to Brisbane to board at Marist College Ashgrove. Mason Redman
Mason Redman (born 26 August 1997) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He is also known by many nicknames; such as red dog and horse. Redman grew up in Millicent, South Australia, the son of a lobster fisherman. He played junior football for Millicent in the Western Border Football League, making his debut for the A Grade at 15. Redman was included in Glenelg's South East talent squads and moved to Adelaide in 2015 to achieve his dream of playing in the AFL. Zach Merrett (born 3 October 1995) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Kyle Langford (footballer)
Kyle Langford (born 1 December 1996) is a professional Australian rules footballer with the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was recruited by the Essendon Football Club with the 17th overall selection in the 2014 national draft. Langford attended Ivanhoe Grammar School, and represented both the Northern Knights and Vic Metro in the TAC Cup and AFL Under 18 Championships respectively. He kicked back-to-back five-goal hauls and equaled the highest marking average of eight marks per match in the TAC Cup. Isaac Quaynor (born 15 January 2000) is a professional Australian rules footballer with Ghanaian descent who plays for the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Early life Quaynor participated in the Auskick program at Doncaster East, Victoria. He played junior football with the Doncaster East Football Club with future Collingwood teammate Tom Phillips. Darcy Moore (born 25 January 1996) is an Australian rules footballer who currently plays for the Collingwood Football Club. The son of former Collingwood captain Peter Moore, he played for the Oakleigh Chargers in the TAC Cup before he was drafted to Collingwood in 2014 under the father–son rule. Jordan De Goey (born 15 March 1996) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). State football De Goey played his junior football with the Ashburton United Junior Football Club in the Yarra Junior Football League. Nick Daicos (born 3 January 2003) is a professional Australian rules football player who plays for the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Daicos is the son of Peter Daicos, who played for Collingwood in the VFL/AFL, and the younger brother of Josh Daicos, who also plays for Collingwood. Josh Daicos (born 26 November 1998) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Charles Curnow (born 3 February 1997) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Curnow received a nomination for the 2017 AFL Rising Star award in round 16 of the 2017 season and won the Coleman Medal for kicking the most goals in the 2022 AFL season.
