The 2022–23 Vanderbilt Commodores men's basketball team represents Vanderbilt University during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team is led by fourth-year head coach Jerry Stackhouse, and plays their home games at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville, Tennessee as a member of the Southeastern Conference. They finished the season 18–13, 11–7 in SEC Play, in a three-way tie for 4th place. They defeated LSU and Kentucky to advance to the semifinals of the SEC tournament, where they were defeated by Texas A&M. They received an at-large bid to the National Invitation Tournament where they defeated Yale and Michigan to advance to the quarterfinals where they lost to UAB. Jerry Stackhouse
Jerry Darnell Stackhouse (born November 5, 1974) is an American basketball coach and former professional player who is the head coach of the Vanderbilt Commodores men's team. He played 18 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and was a two-time NBA All-Star. He formerly was the head coach of Raptors 905 and an assistant coach for the Toronto Raptors and Memphis Grizzlies. Additionally, he has worked as an NBA TV analyst. Stackhouse played college basketball for the North Carolina Tar Heels. Early career Stackhouse was a premier player from the time he was a sophomore in high school. He was the state player of the year for North Carolina in 1991–92, leading Kinston (N.C) High School to the state finals. Jacksonville State Gamecocks Men's Basketball
The Jacksonville State Gamecocks men's basketball team is the men's basketball team that represents Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. JSU is a member of the ASUN Conference, having returned to that conference on July 1, 2021, after an 18-year absence spent in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Gamecocks are coached by Ray Harper. 2021–22 Xavier Musketeers Men's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Xavier Musketeers men's basketball team represented Xavier University during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season as a member of the Big East Conference. Led by fourth-year head coach Travis Steele for the first 32 games and interim head coach Jonas Hayes for the final four games, they played their home games at the Cintas Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Musketeers finished the season 23–13, 8–11 in Big East play to finish in a tie for seventh place. They lost in the first round of the Big East tournament to Butler. The team received an at-large bid to the National Invitation Tournament where they defeated Cleveland State, Florida, Vanderbilt, and St. Bonaventure to advance to the championship game. The 2021–22 Dayton Flyers men's basketball team represented the University of Dayton in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Their head coach was Anthony Grant, in his fifth season with the Flyers. The Flyers played their home games at UD Arena in Dayton, Ohio as members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. 2022 National Invitation Tournament
The 2022 National Invitation Tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 32 NCAA Division I men's college basketball teams not selected to participate in the 2022 NCAA tournament. The tournament began on March 15 and ended on March 31. The first three rounds were played on campuses, with the semi-final and championship final played at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The 2022 Southeastern Conference men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the 2021–22 Southeastern Conference men's basketball season, held on March 9–13, 2022 at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.
