2022–23 UC San Diego Tritons Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 UC San Diego Tritons men's basketball team represented the University of California, San Diego in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Tritons, led by tenth-year head coach Eric Olen, played their home games at LionTree Arena in La Jolla, California as members of the Big West Conference. The Tritons finished the season 10–20, 5–13 in Big West play, to finish in ninth place. The Tritons were ineligible for postseason tournaments, including the NCAA tournament, as they were in the third year of a four-year mandatory transition period to Division I. Previous season The Tritons finished the 2021–22 season 13–16, 7–11 in Big West play, which would have put them in eighth place, but their conference games did not count on the records of the Tritons or any other member of the Big West, due to their four-year mandatory transition period to Division I. Eric Olen
Eric Olen (born October 15, 1980) is an American college basketball coach who is the current head men's basketball coach at the University of New Mexico. He was previously the head coach at UC San Diego from 2013 to 2025. Playing career Olen grew up in Mobile, Alabama and prepped at McGill–Toolen Catholic High School. Olen went on to play collegiately at Spring Hill College, where he was part of three straight NAIA national tournament appearances for the Badgers, including an Elite Eight appearance in 2000. Coaching career Olen joined his former college coach Bill Carr as an assistant at UC San Diego in 2004, and stayed in the role until 2013 before being promoted to head coach after then head coach Chris Carlson left for an administrative role with the West Coast Conference. Mount Si High School is a high school located in the Snoqualmie Valley in Snoqualmie, Washington and is a part of the Snoqualmie Valley School District. History According to the ''Seattle Times'', Mount Si High School was founded as early as 1944, during World War II. Francis Parker School, also known simply as Parker, is a college preparatory independent day school in San Diego, California, serving students from junior kindergarten through twelfth grade.
