2022–23 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Women's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Notre Dame Fighting Irish women's basketball team represented the University of Notre Dame during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Fighting Irish were led by third year head coach Niele Ivey and played their home games at Purcell Pavilion as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Fighting Irish finished the season 27–6 overall and 15–3 in ACC play, to finish as conference champions. This was their seventh regular season championship, and first since 2018–19. As the first seed in the ACC tournament, they defeated eighth seed NC State in the Quarterfinals before losing to fourth seed Louisville in the Semifinals. Niele Ivey
Niele Deirdre Jamillah Viveca Ivey (born September 24, 1977) is an American college basketball coach and the current head coach for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish women's basketball team. She is a former Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) player for the Indiana Fever, Detroit Shock, and Phoenix Mercury. Prior to her move to the NCAA in August 2019, she was an assistant coach for the University of Notre Dame women's basketball team, where she had played in college. She was an All-American point guard and became the 17th player in school history to record over 1,000 career points. She received the Frances Pomeroy Naismith Award presented for the nation's top player under 5'8" in 2001. She would go on to lead the Irish women to their first NCAA Championship in 2001, in her hometown of St. Louis as a fifth-year senior. 2022 ACC Women's Basketball Tournament
The 2022 Atlantic Coast Conference women's basketball tournament concluded the 2021–22 season of the Atlantic Coast Conference, and was held at Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina from March 2–6, 2022. This is the 22nd time in 23 years that the tournament has been held in Greensboro. The NC State Wolfpack claimed the title of ACC Champion and an automatic berth into the NCAA tournament for the third year in a row. Seeds All 15 ACC teams are scheduled to participate in the tournament. Teams are seeded by record within the conference, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical conference records. The top four seeds will receive double byes, while seeds 5 through 9 will receive single byes. Danville is a city in and the county seat of Vermilion County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, its population was 33,027. As of 2019, the population was an estimated 30,479. Liberty Township is an affluent suburb of Cincinnati located in Butler County, Ohio. It is one of thirteen townships in Butler County, Ohio, United States. It is located on the east-central part of the county, just south of the city of Monroe. The 2021–22 NC State Wolfpack women's basketball team represented North Carolina State University during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. 2021–22 UMass Minutewomen Basketball Team
The 2021–22 UMass Minutewomen basketball team represented the University of Massachusetts Amherst during the 2021–22 college basketball season. The Minutewomen, led by sixth-year head coach Tory Verdi, were members of the Atlantic 10 Conference and played their home games at the Mullins Center. They finished the season 26–7 overall, and 11–4 in A-10 play to finish in third place. As the third seed in the A-10 Tournament they received a bye into the Quarterfinals where they defeated Fordham.
