2022–23 NC State Wolfpack Women's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 NC State Wolfpack women's basketball team represented North Carolina State University during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Wolfpack were led by tenth-year head coach Wes Moore and played their home games at Reynolds Coliseum as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Wolfpack finished the season 20–12 overall and 9–9 in ACC play to finish in a tie for eighth place. As the eighth seed in the ACC tournament, they earned a bye to the Second round where they defeated ninth seed Syracuse, then lost to first seed Notre Dame in the Quarterfinals. They earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament where they were the seventh seed in the Greenville 2 Region. They were upset by ten-seed Princeton in the First round to end their season. Wes Moore (basketball)
Frank Weston Moore (born April 22, 1957) is an American college basketball coach who is the current women's basketball head coach at NC State Wolfpack women's basketball, NC State. A head coach at all three levels of NCAA women's college basketball since 1987, Moore has been named Coach of the Year eight times by three conferences and over 20 regular season or conference tournament championships. Moore grew up in Dallas and played college basketball at Johnson University, Johnson Bible College. He began his coaching career as a men's basketball coach at Johnson Bible in 1984. Then in 1987, Moore became head coach for a struggling women's basketball program at Maryville Scots, Maryville College and instant turned the program into a winner, with five NCAA Division III women's basketball tournament, NCAA Division III Tournament appearances and over 130 wins in six seasons. 2021–22 Longwood Lancers Women's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Longwood Lancers women's basketball team represented Longwood University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Lancers, led by fourth-year head coach Rebecca Tillet, played their home games at Willett Hall in Farmville, Virginia as members of the Big South Conference. They finished the season 22–12, 15–3 in Big South play, to finish as co-Big South regular season champions. As the second seed in the Big South tournament, they defeated Hampton, UNC Asheville and Campbell to win the championship. As a result, the Lancers received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, the school's first-ever trip to the tournament. Elissa Cunane (; born September 25, 2000) is an American professional basketball player. She played college basketball at NC State. She was drafted by the Seattle Storm in the 2022 WNBA Draft. College career Freshman season Cunane came off the bench in her freshman season for majority of the season while also coming back from a foot fracture she suffered in high school. Despite being a bench player, she often played in late-game situations and was a key player towards the end of the Wolfpack's season, starting after an injury to regular starter Erika Cassell.
