2022–23 Kansas Jayhawks Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball team represented the University of Kansas in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season, which was the Jayhawks' 125th basketball season. The Jayhawks, members of the Big 12 Conference, played their home games at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kansas. They were led by 20th year Hall of Fame head coach Bill Self. Kansas finished first in the Big 12 in the regular season. The Jayhawks qualified for the NCAA tournament but lost in the 2nd round. Season summary On November 2, 2022, Kansas announced that Self and assistant coach Kurtis Townsend would serve a four-game suspension for alleged recruiting violations from a 2017 FBI probe. Billy Eugene Self Jr. (born December 27, 1962) is an American basketball coach who is the head coach of the Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball, Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball team. Self has held various coaching roles at the collegiate level and has been the coach of the Jayhawks since 2003. David McCormack (basketball)
David Joseph McCormack (born July 2, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for Alba Berlin of the German BBL and the EuroLeague. He played college basketball at the University of Kansas where he won the 2022 National Championship. Early life McCormack was born in The Bronx, New York and moved to Norfolk, Virginia at age two. He grew up playing football and basketball, as well as taking part in shot put and discus throw. McCormack played basketball for Norfolk Academy in Norfolk, Virginia before transferring to Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia. He lost about 40 lbs (18 kg) in his first year at Oak Hill. Zuby Ejiofor (born April 20, 2004) is an American college basketball player for the St. John's Red Storm. He previously played for the Kansas Jayhawks. Early life and high school Ejiofor attended Garland High School in Garland, Texas, where he averaged 21 points and 13 rebounds per game as a junior. As a senior, he averaged 22 points, 13 rebounds, four blocks and two steals per game. Gradey Reed Dick (born November 20, 2003) is an American professional basketball player for the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Kansas Jayhawks. He was a consensus five-star recruit and one of the top players in the 2022 class. The Texas Tech Red Raiders basketball team represents Texas Tech University in basketball.
