2022–23 Kansas City Roos Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Kansas City Roos men's basketball team represented the University of Missouri–Kansas City during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Roos, led by first-year head coach Marvin Menzies, played their home games on-campus at Swinney Recreation Center in Kansas City, Missouri as a member of The Summit League (The Summit). The Roos finished the season 11–21 overall, 7–11 in The Summit to finish in a tie for sixth place. As the seventh seed, they were defeated by the University of Nebraska Omaha in The Summit tournament first round. Previous Season The Kangaroos finished the 2021–22 season with a record of 19–12 overall, 12–6 in The Summit to finish in a tie for third place. Head Coach Billy Donlon stepped down on April 21, 2022 to "pursue other opportunities", ending his three-year tenure at the helm. Summit League
The Summit League, or The Summit, is an NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletic conference with its membership mostly located in the Midwestern United States, from Minnesota in the east, to the Dakotas, Nebraska and Colorado to the West, and Missouri and Oklahoma to the South. Founded as the Association of Mid-Continent Universities in 1982, it rebranded as the Mid-Continent Conference in 1989, then again as the Summit League on June 1, 2007. Navarro College is a public community college in Texas with its main campus in Corsicana and branches in Mexia, Midlothian, and Waxahachie. Burleson High School
Burleson High School is a four-year public high school consisting of grades 9–12 located in Burleson, in the U.S. state of Texas, and is part of the Burleson Independent School District. History In 1901, Burleson's first school, the Red Oak Academy, was constructed. In 1909, the building was destroyed by fire. The State of Texas granted a charter for an independent school district, and the citizens of Burleson voted to construct a new school. By 1910 the new school was opened, on what is now the old Nola Dunn Campus. The school was later torn down and a new high school was constructed in the 1960s.
