The 2022–23 season was the 145th season in the existence of Ipswich Town Football Club and the club's fourth consecutive season in League One. In addition to the league, they also competed in the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the EFL Trophy. Following a successful league campaign which saw the team score 101 goals and finish in second place, they were promoted to the EFL Championship for the 2023–24 season. George Edmundson (footballer)
Samuel George Alan Edmundson (born 15 August 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for club Ipswich Town. Born in Manchester, Edmundson began his career at Oldham Athletic, joining the club's academy in 2013 and going on to make his senior debut in 2015. He spent six years at Oldham, spending time out on loan at Ramsbottom United, Alfreton Town and AFC Fylde during his time at the club. In June 2019, He joined Scottish club Rangers from Oldham. Massimo Corey Luongo ( ; born 25 September 1992) is an Australian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Middlesbrough and the Australia national team. Born in Sydney, Luongo played youth football for APIA Leichhardt Tigers before moving to England to play for Tottenham Hotspur, where he started his professional career. Dominic Martin Ball (born 2 August 1995) is an English professional footballer who plays for Ipswich Town. He plays primarily as a defensive midfielder but can also play as a centre-back or at full-back. He made his competitive first-team debut for Burton Albion in September 2013, at the age of 17.
