2022–23 East Carolina Pirates Women's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 East Carolina Pirates women's basketball team represented East Carolina University during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Pirates, led by fourth-year head coach Kim McNeill, played their home games at Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum and were ninth-year members of the American Athletic Conference (AAC). Previous season The Pirates finished the 2021–22 season 11–18, 4–11 in AAC play, to finish in a tie for last place. They lost in the first round of the AAC women's tournament to Memphis. Offseason Departures Due to COVID-19 disruptions throughout NCAA sports in 2020–21, the NCAA announced that the 2020–21 season would not count against the athletic eligibility of any individual involved in an NCAA winter sport, including women's basketball. Kim McNeill
Kim McNeill () is an American basketball coach from Bassett, Virginia. She is the current head coach for the East Carolina Pirates women's basketball team. Prior to becoming the head coach at East Carolina in 2019, she spent three seasons as the head women's basketball coach for the University of Hartford. Before taking over at Hartford she served as assistant and associate head coach at Virginia. Playing career McNeill (at the time, Kim Hairston) began her collegiate playing career at Radford. As a freshman, she won the award as the Big South rookie of the year. She hit 45 out of 112 three point attempts for a 40.2% completion rate, which represented the second-highest figure and program history at that time. She then transferred to Richmond, where she was a co-captain of her team, and made the Colonial Athletic Association All-defensive team as a senior. Georgia Lady Bulldogs Basketball
The Georgia Lady Bulldogs basketball team represents the University of Georgia in basketball. The Lady Bulldogs are a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The "Lady Dawgs," as they are sometimes called, play in Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Georgia. They have historically been among collegiate Womens Basketball's best programs.
