2022–23 Dallas Stars Season
The 2022–23 Dallas Stars season was the 56th season for National Hockey League franchise that was established on June 5, 1967, and the 30th season since the franchise relocated from Minnesota prior to the start of the 1993–94 NHL season. The first game of the season was played at Bridgestone Arena against the Nashville Predators on October 13, 2022, with the first home game against the Predators at American Airlines Center on October 15. During the off-season, Rick Bowness resigned as head coach of the Stars, and Peter DeBoer was hired to replace him. On April 3, 2023, the Stars clinched a playoff spot after a win over the Nashville Predators. In the playoffs, the Stars defeated the Minnesota Wild in the First Round in six games. Then, they defeated the Seattle Kraken in the Second Round in seven games before losing to the top-seeded and eventual Stanley Cup champion Vegas Golden Knights in six games in the Western Conference Final. Central Division (NHL)
The NHL's Central Division was formed in 1993 as part of the Western Conference in a league realignment. Its predecessor was the Norris Division and its also one of two successors to the Northwest Division. The Chicago Blackhawks have been a member of the Central Division in all of its seasons since the original 1993 realignment. The Arizona Coyotes (as the original Winnipeg Jets), Dallas Stars and St. Louis Blues were also original members of the division, but were realigned to a different division for a while before returning; both the Coyotes and Stars were moved to the Pacific Division in 1998 (the Stars moved back to the Central in 2013, and the Coyotes followed in 2021), while the Blues were moved to the West Division during the temporary 2021 realignment. This is a list of seasons completed by the Dallas Stars team of the National Hockey League. This list documents the records and playoff results for all seasons the Stars have completed in the NHL since 1993. The franchise relocated in 1993 from Minnesota, where it was the Minnesota North Stars. Scott Wedgewood
Scott Wedgewood (born August 14, 1992) is a Canadians, Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender for the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League (NHL). Wedgewood was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the third round (84th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career 2011-2016: Junior hockey, NHL debut with Devils During his fourth and final year of major junior hockey in the 2011–12 OHL season, 2011–12 season with the Plymouth Whalers in the Ontario Hockey League, Wedgewood was signed by the New Jersey Devils to a three-year, entry-level contract on March 20, 2012. Anton Valerievich Khudobin (russian: Антон Валерьевич Худобин; born 7 May 1986) is a Kazakhstani-born Russian professional ice hockey goaltender for the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract with the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League (NHL). Nicknamed "Dobby", Khudobin was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the seventh round, 206th overall, at the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, playing for the organization for three-and-a-half years before joining the Boston Bruins via a trade in 2011. 2022–23 Vegas Golden Knights Season
The 2022–23 Vegas Golden Knights season was the sixth season for the National Hockey League franchise that started playing in the 2017–18 season. On March 30, 2023, the Golden Knights clinched a playoff berth after the Nashville Predators lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins, returning to the playoffs after missing the previous postseason. The Golden Knights then clinched their third Pacific Division championship, as well as the first seed in the Western Conference, with a victory over the Seattle Kraken on April 13, 2023. The 2022–23 Seattle Kraken season was the second season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise. They played their home games at Climate Pledge Arena. In January 2023, the Kraken became the first team in NHL history to win all seven games of a road trip. Richard Gary Bowness (born January 25, 1955) is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player who is the head coach of the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League (NHL). Bowness played right wing for the Atlanta Flames, Detroit Red Wings, St. Louis Blues, and original Winnipeg Jets and Central Hockey League, American Hockey League, and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League teams. Bridgestone Arena (originally Nashville Arena, and formerly Gaylord Entertainment Center and Sommet Center) is a multi-purpose venue in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, United States.
