2022–23 Croatian Football League
The 2022–23 Croatian Football League (officially SuperSport Hrvatska nogometna liga for sponsorship reasons) is the 32nd season of the Croatian top division football, the national championship for men's association football teams in Croatia , image_flag = Flag of Croatia.svg , image_coat = Coat of arms of Croatia.svg , anthem = "Lijepa naša domovino"("Our Beautiful Homeland") , image_map = , map_caption = , capit ..., since its establishment in 1992. The Hrvatska nogometna liga () ( en, Croatian football league), also known as HNL or for sponsorship reasons the SuperSport HNL, is the top Croatian professional football (soccer), football league competition, established in 1992. Previously, it was called Prva Hrvatska nogometna liga (First Croatian Football League), but a league structure reorganization from 2022–23 led to name changes for the three top league levels. Overview The league was formed in 1991, following the dissolution of the Yugoslav First League, and is operated by the Croatian Football Federation. Since its formation, the league went through many changes in its system and number of participating clubs. In the first three seasons two points were awarded for a win, from 1994–95 Prva HNL, 1994–95 season this was changed to three points. 2021–22 Croatian Second Football League
The 2021–22 Croatian Second Football League (also known as Druga HNL and 2. HNL) is the 31st season of the Croatian Second Football League, the second-level football competition for men's association football teams in Croatia, since its establishment in 1992. The season started on 13 August 2021 and is scheduled to end on 28 May 2022. The league is contested by 16 teams, two less than the previous season, and played in a double round robin format, with each team playing every other team twice over 30 rounds. At the end of the season, the league will be reduced from 16 to 12 clubs. Reserve teams of first league clubs will not be allowed to play and will automatically move to a lower rank. Nogometni klub Osijek ( en, Osijek Football Club), commonly referred to as NK Osijek or simply Osijek (), is a Croatian professional football club from Osijek.
