2022–23 BYU Cougars Women's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 BYU Cougars women's basketball team represents Brigham Young University during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. It is head coach Amber Whiting's first season at BYU after Jeff Judkins retired at the end of the previous season. The Cougars, playing as members of the West Coast Conference for the final season, play their home games at the Marriott Center. Before the season Departures After a season in which most players returned due to COVID-19 regulations, BYU finds themselves having lost quite a few seniors and last season's leading scorer. Amber Whiting
Amber Whiting is an American college basketball coach who is currently the head coach of the Brigham Young University women's basketball team. She was hired by BYU in 2022; prior to that, she coached high school basketball in Idaho. Whiting also played for the BYU women's basketball team during the 2000–01 season. Career Whiting was born in Ogden, Utah. She played college basketball for three colleges in Utah: Snow College from 1997 to 1999, Weber State University in 1999–2000, and BYU in 2000–01. She began her coaching career by coaching AAU basketball and other private academy teams. From 2018 to 2022, she coached the girls' basketball team at Burley High School in Burley, Idaho. Seton Catholic Preparatory is a college preparatory, co-educational Catholic high school in Chandler, Arizona, United States. Named after St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, the school was established in 1954 and is staffed by the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill. History Originally known as "Seton High School" or later as "Seton Catholic High School", the school opened in 1954 in downtown Chandler. Initially founded as a parish school, Seton began to operate under the supervision of the Diocese of Phoenix as a diocesan school beginning in 1973. The Arizona State Sun Devils women's basketball team represents Arizona State University in women's basketball. Stadium College Sports (formerly Fox College Sports) is a group of three American sports networks. Owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group and Entertainment Studios (under the joint venture Diamond Sports Group), the three channels air college and high school sporting events and programming. The channel is divided into three feeds—Atlantic, Central, and Pacific. Despite their names, the feeds no longer correspond to specific regions. BYU TV (stylized as BYUtv) is a television channel, founded in 2000, which is owned and operated as a part of Brigham Young University (BYU). The channel, available through cable and satellite distributors in the United States, produces a number of original series and documentaries with emphases in comedy, history, lifestyle, music and drama. BYUtv also regularly broadcasts feature films, nature documentaries, acquired medical/crime dramas and religious programs (consistent with the university's sponsoring organization, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints).
