2022 Zandvoort Formula 3 Round
The 2022 Zandvoort Formula 3 round was a motor racing event held on 3 and 4 September 2022 at the Circuit Zandvoort, Zandvoort, Netherlands. It was the eight and penultimate race of the 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship, and was held in support of the 2022 Dutch Grand Prix. Driver changes Due to their commitments at the 2022 Euroformula Open Championship in Imola this weekend, Oliver Goethe and Christian Mansell missed the Zandvoort round and were replaced by Sebastián Montoya and David Schumacher, driving for Campos Racing and Charouz Racing System respectively. Classification Qualifying Zane Maloney took pole position ahead of Victor Martins and Jak Crawford. By securing his second pole in this season, the Bajan driver is the first driver in this season to become a repeat polesitter. Circuit Zandvoort
Circuit Zandvoort (), known for sponsorship reasons as CM.com Circuit Zandvoort, and previously known as Circuit Park Zandvoort until 2017, is a motorsport race track located in the dunes north of Zandvoort, the Netherlands, near the North Sea coast line. It returned to the Formula One calendar in 2021 as the location of the revived Dutch Grand Prix. History 1930s to mid 1980s There were plans for races at Zandvoort before World War II: the first street race was held on 3 June 1939. However, a permanent race track was not constructed until after the war, using communications roads built by the occupying German army. Oliver Goethe (born 14 October 2004) is a Danish-German racing driver based in Monaco, who is set to compete in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship with Trident. He is the current champion of the Euroformula Open Championship by winning eleven races in his winning campaign and he also competed as a replacement driver during the 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship for Campos Racing. Career Karting Goethe made his international karting debut in 2019, where he raced in both the European and World Championships in the OK-category, both of which he failed to finish. Kush Maini
Kush Maini (born 22 September 2000) is an Indian racing driver currently competing in the 2023 Formula 2 Championship for Campos Racing. He has previously competed in Formula 4, the Formula Renault Eurocup, the FIA World Endurance Championship, the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship, and most recently FIA Formula 3. He is the younger brother of Arjun Maini, also a racing driver who competed in GP3 and Formula 2, and the nephew of Indian business magnate Chetan Maini. Grégoire Saucy (born 26 December 1999) is a Swiss racing driver and the current champion of the Formula Regional European Championship. He will race with ART Grand Prix in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship. Jonny Edgar (born 13 February 2004) is an English racing driver currently set to race in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship for MP Motorsport. He is a member of the Red Bull Junior Team and is the 2020 ADAC Formula 4 champion. Career Karting Born in Whitehaven, Edgar started his career in 2012, being in the fourth generation of Edgars to practice motor racing. Edgar began his karting career with Fusion Motorsport in Britain, finishing second in the Super 1 National Championship just three years after his debut. Roman Staněk Jr. (born 25 February 2004) is a Czech racing driver who is scheduled to compete in the 2023 FIA Formula 2 Championship with Trident. Campos Racing
Campos Racing is a Spanish motor racing team, founded by former Formula One driver Adrián Campos. The team has been successful in Formula Three and the GP2 Series. History After retiring from racing, Campos formed his own team at the end of 1997, under the name Campos Motorsport. In 1998 the team began by competing in the new Open Fortuna by Nissan, with Marc Gené and Antonio García as drivers. Gené won the championship and García finished fifth, with Campos taking the teams title. Gené stepped up to Formula One in , and his place in the team was taken by karting driver Fernando Alonso.
