2022 Zandvoort Formula 2 Round
The 2022 Zandvoort FIA Formula 2 round was a motor racing event held between 2 and 4 September 2022 at Circuit Zandvoort, Zandvoort, Netherlands. It was the twelfth round of the 2022 Formula 2 Championship and was held in support of the 2022 Dutch Grand Prix. Classification Qualifying Felipe Drugovich achieved back-to-back pole positions with a lap time over two tenths ahead of Spa-Francorchamps feature race winner Jack Doohan and Logan Sargeant. Sprint race Feature race The race was red-flagged after Logan Sargeant's opening-lap crash damaged the barriers. The race was restarted after twenty-five minutes. Circuit Zandvoort
Circuit Zandvoort (), known for sponsorship reasons as CM.com Circuit Zandvoort, and previously known as Circuit Park Zandvoort until 2017, is a motorsport race track located in the dunes north of Zandvoort, the Netherlands, near the North Sea coast line. It returned to the Formula One calendar in 2021 as the location of the revived Dutch Grand Prix. History 1930s to mid 1980s There were plans for races at Zandvoort before World War II: the first street race was held on 3 June 1939. However, a permanent race track was not constructed until after the war, using communications roads built by the occupying German army. Contrary to popular belief John Hugenholtz cannot be credited with the design of the Zandvoort track, although he was involved as the chairman of the Nederlandse Automobiel Ren Club (Dutch Auto Racing Club) before becoming the first track director in 1949. 2022 Formula 2 Championship
The 2022 FIA Formula 2 Championship is a motor racing championship for Formula 2 cars that is sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The championship is the fifty-sixth season of Formula 2 racing and the sixth season run under the FIA Formula 2 Championship moniker. It is an open-wheel racing category that serves as the second tier of formula racing in the FIA Global Pathway. The category is run in support of selected rounds of the 2022 FIA Formula One World Championship. As the championship is a spec series, all teams and drivers competing in the championship run the same car, the Dallara F2 2018. is a Japanese racing driver who most recently raced for Virtuosi Racing in the FIA Formula 2 Championship. He is the 2019 Euroformula Open champion. Roy Nissany ( he, רוי ניסני; born 30 November 1994) is an Israeli racing driver who is set to compete in the Formula 2 Championship with PHM Racing by Charouz. He is also currently a Formula 1 test driver with Williams Grand Prix Engineering. He is the son of former racing driver Chanoch Nissany. Enzo Fittipaldi da Cruz (born 18 July 2001) is a Brazilian-American racing driver, who is set to compete in the FIA Formula 2 Championship with Carlin. Jüri Vips (born 10 August 2000) is an Estonian professional racing driver, currently competing in the FIA Formula 2 Championship with Hitech Grand Prix.
