2022 WAFL Women's Season
The 2022 WAFL Women's season was the fourth season of the WAFL Women's (WAFLW). The season commenced on 19 February and concluded with the Grand Final on 2 July 2022. West Perth made their debut in the competition, increasing the league's size to seven clubs. Claremont won the premiership, and defeated East Fremantle by 8 points in the grand final. Claremont Football Club
The Claremont Football Club, nicknamed Tigers, is an Australian rules football club based in Claremont, Western Australia, that currently plays in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and WAFL Women's (WAFLW). Its official colours are navy blue and gold. Formed as the "Cottesloe Beach Football Club" in 1906, the club entering the WAFL in 1925 as the "Claremont-Cottesloe Football Club"', changing its name to the present in 1935. Claremont have won 12 senior men's premierships since entering the competition, including most recently the 2011 and 2012 premierships. Claremont Oval
Claremont Oval, also known by naming rights sponsorship as Revo Fitness Stadium, is an Australian rules football stadium located in Perth, Western Australia. The stadium, opened in as "Claremont Recreation Ground", seats . It is the home of the Claremont Football Club, an Australian rules football club that plays in the Western Australian Football League (WAFL), the state's premier Australian rules competition. Before 1925, the stadium served as a cricket and soccer ground, with no fence, native bush on the eastern side, near the Claremont Showground, and the remaining area a sandy wasteland. Kate Bartlett (born 6 November 1999) is an Australian rules footballer playing for in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She played for the Peel Thunderbirds before she was drafted by the in the 2018 national draft. After a season at the club, including a final-round senior debut, Bartlett was traded to West Coast. Junior career From Western Australia, Bartlett attributed her first experience of football to her older brother's influence. She played Auskick for the Safety Bay Stingers, a boys team. Bartlett paused her football in year 6 then restarted when she began high school at Kolbe Catholic College, Rockingham. Dhara Kerr Award
The Dhara Kerr Medal is awarded to the best and fairest player in the WAFL Women's (WAFLW) during the home-and-away season, as determined by votes cast by the officiating field umpires after each game. The award was part of the original West Australian Women's Football League competition and was carried over to the WAFLW when it commenced in 2019. Kerr was born in Warrnambool, Victoria in 1971 and died in Perth in 1995, three years after she had relocated to Western Australia and begun playing football for Innaloo. Jasmin Stewart
Jasmin Stewart (born 4 November 1998) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for Port Adelaide in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She previously played for the Fremantle Football Club after being drafted with their first selection, 4th overall, in the 2018 AFL Women's draft. Stewart is a member of the Djaru people, an Aboriginal Australian group whose Country is located in the southern Kimberley region of Western Australia. She was born in Northam, Western Australia and has also lived in Kambalda and the Pilbara. She attended St Mary's Anglican Girls' School as a boarder.
