2022 USL League One Season
The 2022 USL League One season was the fourth season of USL League One. The regular season began on April 2 and ended on October 15. The playoffs are scheduled to begin as early as October 22 and end no later than November 6. Eleven teams will participate in the 2022 season. Four reserve teams operated by clubs in Major League Soccer that participated in the 2021 season Fort Lauderdale CF, New England Revolution II, North Texas SC and Toronto FC II will begin play in MLS's new developmental league MLS Next Pro in 2022. They will be replaced by expansion franchises Central Valley Fuego FC and Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC, and by Charlotte Independence, who decided to move from USL Championship to USL League One. USL League One
USL League One (USL1) is a professional men's soccer league in the United States that had its inaugural season in 2019. The Division III league is operated by United Soccer League, the same group that operates the Division II USL Championship and other leagues. As of 2023, the league has 12 teams who play 30 regular season games, followed by playoffs. Toronto FC II
Toronto FC II is a Canadian professional soccer team based in Toronto, Ontario, who play in MLS Next Pro, a third tier league of the United States soccer league system. It is the reserve team and minor league affiliate of Toronto FC as well as in partnership with Toronto FC Academy. Mike Jeffries (soccer)
Michael Jeffries (born May 20, 1962) is an American soccer coach and former player who is currently the head coach of Charlotte Independence in USL League One. The 1983 Hermann Trophy winner, he played professionally in the North American Soccer League and Major Indoor Soccer League, earning three caps with the U.S. national team. Playing career College Jeffries attended Duke University, where he played on the men’s soccer team from 1980 to 1983. Jeffries was selected to represent the United States at the 1981 Maccabiah Games in Israel. In 1982, Duke went to the NCAA championship before falling to Indiana University in eight overtimes. In 1983, Jeffries was a first-team All-American and the 1983 Hermann Trophy winner as the outstanding collegiate player of the year. American Legion Memorial Stadium
American Legion Memorial Stadium is a 10,500-seat stadium located on 7th Street in the Elizabeth community of Charlotte, North Carolina. It is located on a complex with the Grady Cole Center. Both are located next to Central Piedmont Community College. Independence Park Stadium, a tiny public baseball stadium, is also close by. Martín Vásquez
Martín Vásquez Gómez (born December 24, 1963) is an American former professional soccer player. The first of five players to have played for both the United States and Mexico, he has served as a coach since retiring. Playing career Youth and college Vasquez and his family moved to Los Angeles at age 12. He attended Alhambra High School in Alhambra, California, where he was a high school All-American soccer player. FC Tucson is an American soccer club based in Tucson, Arizona that plays in USL League Two. The club has an amateur women’s team, FC Tucson Women, that play in the WPSL. South Georgia Tormenta FC is an American soccer organization based in Statesboro, Georgia, United States.
