The 2022 UEFA Women's Under-17 Championship (also known as UEFA Women's Under-17 Euro 2022) was the 13th edition of the UEFA Women's Under-17 Championship, the annual international youth football championship organised by UEFA for the women's under-17 national teams of Europe. Bosnia and Herzegovina hosted the tournament. A total of eight teams played in the tournament. Players born on or after 1 January 2005 were eligible to participate. Same as previous editions held in even-numbered years, the tournament acted as the UEFA qualifiers for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup. The top three teams of the tournament qualified for the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in India as the UEFA representatives. Germany were the defending champions, having won the last tournament held in 2019, with the 2020 and 2021 editions cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe. Spain Women's National Under-17 Football Team
The Spain women's national under-17 football team represents Spain in international football in under-17 categories and is controlled by the Royal Spanish Football Federation. The youth team has reached the World Cup Finals on three occasions (2014, 2018 and 2022), winning back to back in the last two. It has also won bronze medals on the 2010 and 2016 editions. The 2012 UEFA Women's Under-17 Championship was the fifth edition of the UEFA Women's Under-17 Championship. The tournament serves as a qualifier to the 2012 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup. The first qualifying matches were played on 29 September 2011, the final was played on 29 June 2012. With 42 participating nations a new U-17 record was set. The 2022 UEFA Women's Under-17 Championship qualifying competition was a women's under-17 football competition that determined the seven teams joining the automatically qualified hosts Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 2022 UEFA Women's Under-17 Championship final tournament. 49 teams, including hosts Bosnia and Herzegovina, entered the qualifying competition.
