2022 UCLA Bruins Men's Volleyball Team
The 2022 UCLA men's volleyball team represented University of California, Los Angeles in the 2022 NCAA Division I & II men's volleyball season. The Bruins, led by tenth year head coach John Speraw, played their home games at Pauley Pavilion when basketball did not conflict with the home game schedule and at John Wooden Center when basketball conflicted with the home game schedule. The Bruins were members of the MPSF and were picked to finish second in the MPSF preseason poll. UCLA hosted the MPSF tournament (April 20–23) and also the 2022 NCAA Championship at Pauley Pavilion. The 2022 NCAA Championship began on May 1 with an opening round match. John Speraw
John Speraw (born October 18, 1971) is an American volleyball coach. He is the head coach of the men's volleyball team at United States national team and UCLA. He was the former coach of UC Irvine volleyball program where he led the team to three national titles in six years. Speraw graduated from UCLA in 1995 with a B.S. degree in micro-biology and molecular genetics. Player Speraw played on the UCLA Bruins men's volleyball team. He was a middle blocker and helped the Bruins win two NCAA National Championships. He was a member of the California Epsilon chapter of Phi Kappa Psi while at UCLA. Coaching As the UC Irvine head coach, he guided the Anteaters to three national titles in six years, the latest in 2012, defeating Southern California 3-0 (25-22, 34-32, 26-24). The Walter Pyramid, formerly known as The Long Beach Pyramid, is a 4,000-seat, indoor multi-purpose arena on the campus of Long Beach State University in Long Beach, California. UC Irvine Anteaters
The UC Irvine Anteaters (referred to Anteaters) are the athletic teams fielded by the University of California, Irvine (UC Irvine).
