2022 Tour Of The Basque Country
The 2022 Tour of the Basque Country (officially known as Itzulia Basque Country 2022) was a road cycling stage race held between 4 and 9 April 2022 in the titular region in northern Spain. It was the 61st edition of the Tour of the Basque Country and the 13th race of the 2022 UCI World Tour. Teams All 18 UCI WorldTeams and five UCI ProTeams made up the 23 teams that participated in the race. All but five teams entered a full squad of seven riders; , , , , and entered six riders each. With one late non-starter, was also reduced to six riders. In total, 155 riders started the race, of which only 54 finished; there were 25 riders who did not finish the last stage, while a further 39 riders finished over the time limit on the final stage. 2022 UCI World Tour
The 2022 UCI World Tour was a series of races that included thirty-one road bicycle racing, road cycling events throughout the 2022 in men's road cycling, 2022 cycling season. The tour started with the 2022 UAE Tour, UAE Tour on 20 February, and concluded with the 2022 Il Lombardia, Il Lombardia on 8 October. Events The 2022 calendar was announced in the autumn of 2021. Cancelled events Due to COVID-19 pandemic, COVID-19-related logistical concerns raised by teams regarding travel to Australia (including strict quarantine requirements), the Tour Down Under (18–23 January) and the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race (30 January) were cancelled. On 8 June 2022, the Benelux Tour (29 August – 4 September) was cancelled due to a pressurised calendar. On 17 June 2022, the Tour of Guangxi (13–18 October) was also cancelled due to travel restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Rouleur (magazine)
''Rouleur'' is a British cycling magazine first published in 2006 by sportswear brand Rapha and later as a part of Gruppo Media Ltd. The magazine's main focus is road racing but there have been excursions into areas such as cyclo-cross and track racing. Every year in November the magazine hosts the Rouleur Live, an exhibition of new bicycle models, accessories and apparel with guests speakers. Amurrio is a town and municipality located in the northwest part of the province of Álava, in the Basque Country, northern Spain. It has over 10,000 inhabitants. Laudio/Llodio is a town and municipality located in the province of Álava, in the Basque Country, northern Spain. Laudio is the name in Basque language and Llodio in Spanish; both are used indistinctly. Julian Alaphilippe (born 11 June 1992) is a French professional road cyclist, former cyclo-cross racer and two-fold UCI World Road Champion, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He is the brother of racing cyclist Bryan Alaphilippe. Career Early career Born in Saint-Amand-Montrond, Alaphilippe started his career competing in the cyclo-cross discipline and finished second in the Junior World Cyclo-Cross Championships in 2010. Primož Roglič
Primož Roglič (; born 29 October 1989) is a Slovenian racing cyclist who rides for UCI WorldTeam . He started as a ski jumper and switched to cycling several years after an accident suffered at Planica. At the 2017 Tour de France, Roglič became the first Slovenian to win a stage. In September 2019, he won the Vuelta a España general classification, becoming the first Slovenian to win a Grand Tour competition. Individual Time Trial
An individual time trial (ITT) is a road bicycle race in which cyclists race alone against the clock (in French: ''contre la montre'' – literally "against the watch", in Italian: ''tappa a cronometro'' "stopwatch stage"). There are also track-based time trials where riders compete in velodromes, and team time trials (TTT). ITTs are also referred to as "the race of truth", as winning depends only on each rider's strength and endurance, and not on help provided by teammates and others riding ahead and creating a slipstream.
