2022 Syracuse Orange Football Team
The 2022 Syracuse Orange football team represented Syracuse University during the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Orange were led by seventh-year head coach Dino Babers and played their home games at the JMA Wireless Dome, competing as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. After being picked to finish last in the preseason media poll, Syracuse went 7–6, 4–4 in ACC play to finish in 5th place in the Atlantic Division. The 2022 Wagner Seahawks football team represented Wagner College as a member of the Northeast Conference (NEC) during the 2022 NCAA Division I FCS football season. Rentschler Field was an airport in East Hartford, Connecticut in use from 1933 to 1999. Originally a military facility, later a private corporate airport, it was decommissioned in 1999, after which the football stadium of the same name was built on the site. The Syracuse–UConn rivalry is a sports rivalry between the Syracuse Orange of Syracuse University and the UConn Huskies of the University of Connecticut. The rivalry started in men's basketball while both schools were members of the Big East conference, and is slowly growing across other sports. Men's basketball The first game played between the two schools took place on January 27, 1956, in Syracuse, New York. Syracuse won 102–82.
