2022 SEC Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2022 Southeastern Conference men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the 2021–22 Southeastern Conference men's basketball season, held on March 9–13, 2022 at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. The winner, the Tennessee Volunteers, received the conference's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA tournament. Seeds All 14 SEC teams participated in the tournament. Teams were seeded by record within the conference, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical conference records. The top 10 teams received a first round bye and the top four teams received a double bye, automatically advancing them into the quarterfinals. Amalie Arena
Amalie Arena (officially stylized as AMALIE Arena) is a multipurpose arena in Tampa, Florida, that has been used for ice hockey, basketball, arena football, concerts, and other events. It is mainly used as the home for the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League. The building opened in 1996 and was originally known as the Ice Palace. In August 2002, the building's naming rights were sold to the ''St. Petersburg Times'', which became the ''Tampa Bay Times'' in January 2012; accordingly, the arena was known as the St. Pete Times Forum (2002–2012) and Tampa Bay Times Forum (2012–2014).
