Rajya Sabha elections is to be held throughout 2022, to elect the retiring members of the Rajya Sabha, the Indian Parliament's upper house. Elections to the 4 vacant seats from Jammu and Kashmir were not held in February as the union territory is under President's rule and the assembly has been dissolved. Piyush Goyal
Piyush Vedprakash Goyal (born 13 June 1964) is a politician, chartered accountant and cabinet minister of the Government of India having portfolios such as Minister of Textiles, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. He was elevated to the Cabinet Minister position on 3 September 2017. Currently a Member of Parliament for Rajya Sabha from the state of Maharashtra, he is also the current Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha. Earlier, he held the post of the National Treasurer of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Ripun Bora is a leader of the All India Trinamool Congress party hailing from Assam. He is now serving as President of the Assam Trinamool Congress. He was the former President, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee, MP of Rajya Sabha for Assam and Ex- Education Minister Govt of Assam. On 21 March 2016, he has been elected to the Rajya Sabha, the Upper House of Indian Parliament along with Ranee Narah also from the Indian National Congress.
