The 2022 Queen's Club Championships (also known as the cinch Championships for sponsorship reasons) was a men's professional tennis tournament played on outdoor grass courts at the Queen's Club in London, United Kingdom from 13 to 19 June 2022. Grass Court
A grass court is one of the four different types of tennis court on which the sport of tennis, originally known as "lawn tennis", is played. Grass courts are made of grasses in different compositions depending on the tournament. Although grass courts are more traditional than other types of tennis courts, maintenance costs of grass courts are higher than those of hard courts and clay courts. Grass courts (in the absence of suitable covers) must be left for the day if rain appears, as the grass becomes very slippery when wet and will not dry for many hours. This is a disadvantage on outdoor courts compared to using hard and clay surfaces, where play can resume in 30 to 120 minutes after the end of rain. Casper Ruud (born 22 December 1998) is a Norwegian professional tennis player. Ruud has a career-high singles ranking of world No. 2, achieved on 12 September 2022, making him the highest-ranked Norwegian tennis player in history. He has won nine ATP Tour singles titles, eight of which were on clay courts. Quentin Halys (; born 26 October 1996) is a French professional tennis player. Halys has a career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 64 achieved on 21 November 2022 and a doubles ranking of No. 129 achieved on 3 October 2022. Stan Wawrinka
Stanislas "Stan" Wawrinka (; born 28 March 1985) is a Swiss professional tennis player. He reached a career-high Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) singles ranking of world No. 3 for the first time on 27 January 2014. Ryan Peniston (born 10 November 1995) is a British tennis player from Essex. He has a career-high singles ranking of world no. 123, achieved in July 2022, and a doubles ranking of world no. 384 achieved in June 2022. Jack Alexander Draper (born 22 December 2001) is a British professional tennis player. Liam Tarquin Broady (born 4 January 1994) is a tennis player and current British No. 6. A wild card (also wildcard or wild-card and also known as an at-large berth or at-large bid) is a tournament or playoff berth awarded to an individual or team that fails to qualify in the normal way; for example, by having a high ranking or winning a qualifying stage.
