2022 Paraguayan Primera División Season
The 2022 División Profesional season (officially the Copa de Primera TIGO-Visión Banco 2022 for sponsorship reasons) will be the 88th season of the Paraguayan Primera División, the top-flight professional football league in Paraguay. The season is scheduled to begin on 4 February and end on 13 November 2022. The fixtures for the season were announced on 14 December 2021. Cerro Porteño will be the defending champions after winning the 2021 Paraguayan Primera División season#Torneo Clausura, 2021 Clausura tournament. The División Profesional de la Asociación Paraguaya de Fútbol (; "Professional Division of the Paraguayan Football Association"), also known as the Primera División (; "first division"), or due to sponsorship reasons Copa de Primera TIGO-Visión Banco, is the top-flight professional football league in Paraguay. Currently, there are 12 teams in the first division. The most successful club is Olimpia, with 46 championships. The most recent champions are Olimpia, having won the 2022 Clausura tournament. Club Sol De América
Club Sol de América is a Paraguayan sports club, mostly known for its football team. The club is located in Barrio Obrero, Paraguay, and it was founded in 1909. The stadium Sol de America uses for most of its first division games is located in the suburb city of Villa Elisa on the border of the capital city, Asunción. Gustavo Adolfo Bobadilla Orrego (born 17 February 1959) is a Paraguayan football coach and former player who played as a goalkeeper. He is the current manager of Sol de América. Estadio General Pablo Rojas (locally known as La Olla or La Nueva Olla) is a football stadium in the neighbourhood of Barrio Obrero in Asunción, Paraguay. It is the home venue of Cerro Porteño. The stadium's nickname ''La Olla'' was given by the club's former president General Pablo Rojas, whose name took the stadium when he died. Francisco Arce
Francisco Javier "Chiqui" Arce Rolón (; born 2 April 1971) is a retired Paraguayan footballer and coach. He played at the right defender position, competing a total of 61 times for the Paraguay national team between 1995 and 2004. He is currently the manager of Cerro Porteño. He has the distinction of being chosen seven times as the "Ideal Team of America", thus having been nominated the most times in history. Itauguá
Itauguá () is a city of the Central Department, Paraguay. Founded in 1728, it is known by its peculiar art of the ñandutà and its music. The San Rafael Museum shows various objects from the Colonial Age. The National Hospital, one of the most important health institutions, is located in Itauguá. Estadio Defensores del Chaco is a multi-purpose stadium in Asunción, Paraguay. It is currently used mostly for football matches. Club Sportivo Ameliano, also simply known as Ameliano, is a Paraguayan football club based in Virgen del Huerto neighborhood in the city of Asunción. Club Olimpia is a Paraguayan sports club based in the city of Asunción.
