The 2022 NCAA Division I softball tournament was held from May 20 through June 9, 2022, as the final part of the 2022 NCAA Division I softball season. The tournament culminated with the 2022 Women's College World Series at USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City. Format A total of 64 teams entered the tournament, with 32 of them receiving an automatic bid by either winning their conference's tournament or by finishing in first place in their conference. The remaining 32 bids were issued at-large, with selections extended by the NCAA Selection Committee. 2022 Oklahoma Sooners Softball Team
The 2022 Oklahoma Sooners softball team was an American college softball team that represented the University of Oklahoma during the 2022 NCAA Division I softball season. The Sooners were led by Patty Gasso in her twenty-eighth season, and played their home games at OU Softball Complex. They competed in the Big 12 Conference, where they finished the season with a 59–3 record, including 17–1 in conference play. Previous season The Sooners finished the 2021 season 56–4 overall, and 16–1 in the Big 12, finishing in first place in their conference. Following the conclusion of the regular season, the Sooners received an automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Division I softball tournament after winning the Big 12 Tournament. UCF Golden Knights Softball
The UCF Knights softball program represents the University of Central Florida in the sport of softball. The Knights compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) and the American Athletic Conference (The American). The Knights play their home games at the UCF Softball Complex on UCF's main campus in Orlando, Florida. The Knights are coached by head coach Cindy Ball-Malone.
