2022 Men's South American Cricket Championship
The 2022 Men's South American Cricket Championship was a cricket tournament that took place in Itaguaí, Brazil from 20 to 23 October 2022. This was the seventeenth edition of the men's South American Cricket Championship, and the second in which matches were eligible for T20I status, since the ICC granted Twenty20 International (T20I) status to matches between all of its members. However, matches played in this edition did not have T20I status. The seven participating teams were the national sides of hosts Brazil, along with Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay. Argentina were the defending champions having won the event in 2019. Before the men's tournament, the Women's South American Championship, as well tournaments for under-15s and under-19s were played in October 2022. Twenty20
Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 overs. Together with first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three current forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being at the highest international or domestic level. A typical Twenty20 game is completed in about two and a half hours, with each innings lasting around 70 minutes and an official 10-minute break between the innings. 2022 Women's South American Cricket Championship
The 2022 Women's South American Cricket Championship was a cricket tournament held in Itaguaí, Brazil from 13 to 16 October 2022. This was the twelfth edition of the women's South American Cricket Championship, and the third in which the matches were eligible for WT20I status since the ICC granted Twenty20 International (T20I) status to matches between all of its members. The four participating teams this year were the national sides of hosts Brazil, along with Argentina, Peru and for the first time Canada. Brazil were the defending champions having won the event in 2019. Canada's matches did not have official T20I status in this tournament. Tournaments for under-15s and under-19s took place earlier in October 2022, and the Men's South American Championship followed the women's event. Roberta de Melo Moretti Avery (born 9 July 1985) is a Brazilian cricketer and the captain of the national women's cricket team. Career Early life and career Moretti was born in Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais as part of a sporting family: her parents played golf. In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batter is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress. Occurrence At least one batter is not out at the end of every innings, because once ten batters are out, the eleventh has no partner to bat on with so the innings ends. Usually two batters finish not out if the batting side declares in first-class cricket, and often at the end of the scheduled number of overs in limited overs cricket. Alejandro Ferguson
Alejandro "Alec" Ferguson (born July 19, 1978) is an Argentine cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper who has played for Argentina since 1994. Ferguson made his debut as a fifteen-year-old lower-middle order batsman, though he averaged merely five with the bat throughout the tournament, as Argentina finished third in their Plate Group. Seven years later, Ferguson showed up for the 2001 ICC Trophy tournament, where he played two matches for the team. He played in Division Two of the 2006 World Cricket League Americas Region in February. Ferguson became the Division Two Wicket-keeper of the tournament, following his figures of five catches and one stumping in four matches which made him the most successful Argentine fielder of the tournament. The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises.
