2022 Men's Pan-American Volleyball Cup
The 2022 Men's Pan-American Volleyball Cup was the 15th edition of the annual men's volleyball tournament. It was held in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada, from 9 August to 14 August. Eight teams competed in the tournament. Competing nations Competition format The competition format for the Pan-American Volleyball Cup divides the eight participating teams in two groups of four teams each. The best team from Group A and Group B will advance to the semifinals, the second and third teams from Group B will play the quarterfinals against the second and third teams from Pool A. The remaining teams will play for the 5th to 8th placement matches. Osniel Melgarejo
Osniel Lazaro Melgarejo Hernández (born ) is a Cuban male volleyball player. He is part of the Cuba men's national volleyball team. On club level he plays for Allianz Milano. Career His career started in the provincial club of Sancti Spiritus in Cuba, participating in amateur tournaments. In 2015 he received his first call from the Cuban national team, winning the silver medal at the North American championship, while a year later he won the gold medal at the Pan-American Cup and the silver one on the same tournament with the U23 team. He also competed in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. For the 2016-17 season he received permission from the Cuban government to play abroad, thus signing with Panathinaikos of Greece. The 2022 Women's Pan-American Volleyball Cup was the 19th edition of the annual women's volleyball tournament. It was held in Hermosillo, Mexico from 19–29 August, 2022. The Dominican Republic won the gold medal, its 6th overall, while Colombia finished as runners-up for the first time in its history. The United States defeated Mexico to claim the bronze medal.
