2022 Lewis Flyers Men's Volleyball Team
The 2022 Lewis Flyers men's volleyball team represented Lewis University in the 2022 NCAA Division I & II men's volleyball season. The Flyers, led by eighteenth year head coach Dan Friend, played their home games at Neil Carey Arena. The Flyers were members of the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association and were picked to finish second the MIVA in the preseason poll behind Loyola Chicago. The Flyers ended the season fourth in the MIVA, holding a 2–0 record against Ohio State as the tiebreaker, and lost in the MIVA Semifinals. 2022 UCLA Bruins Men's Volleyball Team
The 2022 UCLA men's volleyball team represented University of California, Los Angeles in the 2022 NCAA Division I & II men's volleyball season. The Bruins, led by tenth year head coach John Speraw, played their home games at Pauley Pavilion when basketball did not conflict with the home game schedule and at John Wooden Center when basketball conflicted with the home game schedule. The Bruins were members of the MPSF and were picked to finish second in the MPSF preseason poll. UCLA hosted the MPSF tournament (April 20–23) and also the 2022 NCAA Championship at Pauley Pavilion. The 2022 NCAA Championship began on May 1 with an opening round match. Firestone Fieldhouse
Firestone Fieldhouse is a multipurpose arena located near Malibu, California, on the campus of Pepperdine University. It was built in 1973 as the home of the Pepperdine Waves basketball and volleyball teams, who still play at the Fieldhouse today. It seats 3,104 for sporting events and up to 5,000 for concerts, graduation ceremonies, and lectures. The Fieldhouse was officially dedicated on September 20, 1975, by President Gerald R. Ford. A year later, 4,500 fans crowded the Fieldhouse to see Pepperdine defeat the UNLV Runnin' Rebels basketball team by a score of 93–91.
