2022 Ibero-American Championships In Athletics
The 19th Ibero-American Championships in Athletics were held at the Estadi Olímpic Camilo Cano in Spain in La Nucía (most events) and Torrevieja (half marathon), between May 20 and 22, 2022. The competition was originally scheduled to take place in 2020 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife but had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. La Nucía
La Nucia (; es, La Nucía) is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of Marina Baixa, Alicante, Valencian Community, Spain. It borders the municipalities of Altea, Callosa d'En Sarrià, Benidorm, Polop and L'Alfàs del Pi. La Nucia is located in a fruit valley between Benidorm and Callosa d'En Sarrià, 3 km from the coast of Altea. Luguelín Santos
Luguelín Miguel Santos Aquino (born 12 November 1992) is a Dominican sprinter, who specialises in the 400 m. He was the silver medallist in the event at the 2012 London Olympics at the age of eighteen. His personal best is 44.11 seconds. Santos emerged with two gold medals at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics and made his senior breakthrough at the 2011 Pan American Games, taking individual and relay silver medals with Dominican national record times. Carlos Martín Díaz del Río (born 9 July 1993) is a Chilean middle-distance runner who competes mainly in the 1500 metres. He holds a Chilean Record of 3:37.86 minutes for the distance. He was the gold medallist in the event at the South American Championships in Athletics in 2015. Díaz rose through the age categories, taking the South American Youth title in 2010, a South American Junior bronze in 2011, then a gold medal at the South American Under-23 Championships in Athletics in 2014. As a senior athlete he is a two-time medallist at the Ibero-American Championships in Athletics and won a bronze at the 2014 Pan American Sports Festival. 5000 Metres
The 5000 metres or 5000-metre run is a common long-distance running event in track and field, approximately equivalent to or . It is one of the track events in the Olympic Games and the World Championships in Athletics, run over laps of a standard track. The same distance in road running is called a 5K run; referring to the distance in metres rather than kilometres serves to disambiguate the two events. Pol Moya Betriu (born 9 December 1996) is an Andorran middle-distance runner competing primarily in the 800 metres. He represented his country at the 2016 World Indoor Championships without qualifying for the final. He is the national record holder on several distances. Moya represented Andorra at the 2016 Summer Olympics, but did not qualify for the final. He was the flag bearer for Andorra for the closing ceremonies. Moya was born in Spain to Spanish parents. 1500 Metres
The 1500 metres or 1,500-metre run (typically pronounced 'fifteen-hundred metres') is the foremost middle distance track event in athletics. The distance has been contested at the Summer Olympics since 1896 and the World Championships in Athletics since 1983. It is equivalent to 1.5 kilometers or approximately miles. The event is closely associated with its slightly longer cousin, the mile race, from which it derives its nickname "the metric mile". The demands of the race are similar to that of the 800 metres, but with a slightly higher emphasis on aerobic endurance and a slightly lower sprint speed requirement. José Carlos Pinto Samayoa (born 16 June 1993) is a Guatemalan professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Liga Nacional club Comunicaciones and captains the Guatemala national team.
