2022 IIHF Women's World Championship Division II
The 2022 IIHF Women's World Championship Division II were two international ice hockey tournaments organised by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The Group A tournament was played in Jaca, Spain, from 3 to 8 April 2022 and the Group B tournament in Zagreb, Croatia, from 17 to 22 May 2022. Entering the competition, there were no divisional changes, as the 2021 event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Great Britain won the Group A tournament and was promoted, while Mexico was relegated. Iceland won Group B and Croatia finished last. 2021 IIHF Women's World Championship Division II
The 2021 IIHF Women's World Championship Division II was scheduled to be two international ice hockey tournaments organised by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The Division II Group A tournament would have been held in Jaca, Spain, from 10 to 16 April 2021 and the Division II Group B tournament in Zagreb, Croatia, from 7 to 13 March 2021. In 2020, Australia was initially promoted but after Division II Group A was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they remain in Division II Group B. On 18 November 2020, both tournaments were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Alba Gonzalo (born 27 April 1997) is a Spanish ice hockey goaltender and member of the Spanish national team, currently playing with HV71 Dam in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL). Career Gonzalo grew up playing football and basketball in Barcelona. She began playing inline hockey at the age of six, eventually switching to ice hockey when she 16, after a new team was founded in the Sant Adrià de Besòs district. She originally disliked the sport and ran into issues with her first coach limiting her ice time because of her gender, but was advised by her mother to stick with it. Emily Harris (born February 11, 1947, as Emily Montague Schwartz) was, along with her husband William Harris (1945–), a member of the Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA), an American left-wing terrorist group involved in murder, kidnapping, and bank robberies.
