2022 Guamanian Gubernatorial Election
The 2022 Guamanian gubernatorial election took place on November 8, 2022, to elect the governor of Guam. Incumbent Democratic Governor Lou Leon Guerrero, who was elected in 2018 with 50.7% of the vote, sought a second term. She faced former Republican governor Felix Camacho. Guerrero defeated Camacho in the general election, winning a second term as governor. Guerrero was the first Democratic Governor of Guam elected to a second term in office since Carl Gutierrez in 1998. Felix Camacho
Felix James Pérez Camacho (born October 30, 1957) is an American politician and businessman who served as the 7th Governor of Guam from 2003 to 2011. A member of the Republican Party of Guam, he had previously served as a six-term senator in the Guam Legislature from 1993 to 2003. Born into the Camacho family, his father, Carlos Camacho, served as the 1st Governor of Guam from 1969 to 1975. Early life Camacho was born in Camp Zama, a U.S. military base in Japan. Camacho's father was Carlos Camacho. Camacho's mother was Lourdes Perez Camacho. He was raised in Tamuning, Guam, and was educated in the Catholic school system. Michael San Nicolas
Michael Franklin Quitugua San Nicolas (born January 30, 1981) is a Guamanian Democratic Party politician, who served as the delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives for from 2019 to 2023. San Nicolas was elected by his colleagues in the 116th United States Congress to serve as vice chair of the United States House Committee on Financial Services. Rather than run for reelection in 2022, San Nicholas ran and lost in the Democratic primary of the 2022 Guamanian gubernatorial election. 2022 United States House Of Representatives Election In Guam
The 2022 United States House of Representatives election in Guam was held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, to elect the non-voting Delegate to the United States House of Representatives from Guam's at-large congressional district. The election coincided with the elections of other federal and state offices, including the larger 2022 United States House of Representatives elections and the 2022 Guamanian legislative election. The non-voting delegate is elected for a two-year term. Incumbent Delegate Michael San Nicolas, who was re-elected with 59.6% of the vote in 2020, is retiring to run for governor. James Moylan
James Camacho "Jim" Moylan (born July 18, 1962) is an American politician serving as the delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives for Guam. He became a member of the Guam Legislature in 2019 and was elected to the U.S House of Representatives in the 2022 United States midterm elections. Education Moylan graduated from John F. Kennedy High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from the University of Guam. Career Prior to entering politics, Moylan served as a commissioned officer in the United States Army and parole officer for the Guam Department of Corrections. He was elected to the Guam Legislature in 2018 and assumed office in 2019. Moylan is also a licensed insurance agent. Moylan was the Republican nominee for the 2022 United States House of Representatives election in Guam. He won the election, defeating Judith Won Pat. KUAM-TV (channel 8) is a television station in Hagåtña (Agana), Guam, serving the U.S. territory as an affiliate of NBC and CBS. Owned by Pacific Telestations, LLC, it is sister to the local public access cable channel Local 2. KUAM-TV's studios are located at 600 Harmon Loop in Dededo, and its transmitter is located east-northeast of Agat. History KUAM was Guam's first television station, signing on August 5, 1956 on analog channel 8. It carried programming from all three networks, but has always been a primary NBC affiliate. Carl Tommy Cruz Gutierrez (born October 15, 1941) is an American (U.S. citizen) politician who was the 6th Governor of Guam, serving two four-year terms with Lieutenant Governor Madeleine Z.
