2022 Florida State Seminoles Women's Soccer Team
The 2022 Florida State Seminoles women's soccer team represented Florida State University during the 2022 NCAA Division I women's soccer season. It was the 28th season of the university fielding a program. The Seminoles were led by first-year head coach Brian Pensky, who was hired prior to the season to replace long time coach Mark Krikorian. Florida State finished the season 17–3–3 and 8–2–0 in ACC play to finish in a tie for first place. As the second seed in the ACC Tournament, they received a bye into the Semifinals where they hosted Notre Dame. The match ended in a 3–3 draw and Florida State won the ensuing penalty shoot-out 4–2 to advance to the Final. In the Final, they defeated North Carolina to successfully defend their ACC Tournament title. Seminole Soccer Complex
The Seminole Soccer Complex is the on-campus soccer stadium at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. The 2,000-seat stadium was built in 1998. 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament
The 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament was the 40th edition of the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament, a postseason tournament to determine the national champion of NCAA Division I women's college soccer. The College Cup was played on December 3 and December 6. It was originally set to be played in San Jose, California, but was moved to Stevens Stadium due to a conflict with the MLS playoffs schedule. The Florida State Seminoles defeated the BYU Cougars on penalty kicks to win the National Championship. Qualification The tournament returned to 64 teams after only featuring 48 teams in the 2020 edition due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Jaelin Howell
Jaelin Marie Howell (born November 21, 1999) is an American soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Racing Louisville FC. She has represented the United States at under-17 and under-20 level. In March 2017, she was called up to the senior national team for two international friendlies against Russia, and has since made three more appearances. Early life Howell attended Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Collins, Colorado. She was named an NSCAA All-American in 2015. She played for the Florida State women's soccer team prior to beginning her professional career. Howell was awarded the Hermann Trophy in 2020, honoring the United Soccer Coaches National Players of the Year in NCAA Division I women's soccer. 2021 BYU Cougars Women's Soccer Team
The 2021 BYU Cougars women's soccer team represented Brigham Young University during the 2021 NCAA Division I women's soccer season. The Cougars were coached for a 27th consecutive season by Jennifer Rockwood, who was co-coach in 1995 and became the solo head coach in 1996. Before 1995 BYU women's soccer competed as a club team and not as a member of the NCAA. Overall the Cougars have made the NCAA tournament in 21 of the 26 seasons that Rockwood has been the head coach.
