2022 FIFA World Cup Qualification – UEFA Group E
The 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification UEFA Group E was one of the ten UEFA groups in the World Cup qualification tournament to decide which teams would qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals tournament in Qatar. Group E consisted of five teams: Belarus, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Estonia and Wales. The teams played against each other home-and-away in a round-robin format. The group winners, Belgium, qualified directly for the World Cup finals, while the runners-up, Wales, and the third-placed team, the Czech Republic, advanced to the second round (play-offs). 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualification (UEFA)
The European section of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification acted as qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, to be held in Qatar, for national teams that are members of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). A total of 13 slots in the final tournament were available for UEFA teams. Entrants All 55 FIFA-affiliated national teams from UEFA entered qualification. Status of Russia On 9 December 2019, the World Anti-Doping Agency initially handed Russia a four-year ban from all major international sporting events, after RUSADA was found non-compliant for handing over manipulated lab data to investigators. However, the Russia national team could still enter qualification, as the ban only applies to the World Cup proper as a world championship.
