2022 European Women's Artistic Gymnastics Championships
The 34th European Women's Artistic Gymnastics Championships was held from 11–14 August 2022 in Munich, Germany as part of the second multi-sport European Championships. There were 37 nations who sent athletes. Athletes from Russia and Belarus were banned due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Olympiahalle
Olympiahalle is a multi-purpose arena located in Am Riesenfeld in Munich, Germany, part of Olympiapark. The arena is used for concerts, sporting events, exhibitions or trade fairs. The seating capacity for the arena varies from 12,150 up to 14,000. History In the past, it served as a part-time home for the defunct ice hockey team EC Hedos München. Olympiahalle opened in 1972 and was the venue for gymnastics and handball events at the 1972 Summer Olympics. The current seating capacity of 15,500 was set after a massive overhaul was completed in 2009. A new VIP area, a restaurant and an underground second arena ("Kleine Olympiahalle") with a capacity of up to 4,000 was integrated in the new complex. Angela Andreoli (born 6 June 2006) is an Italian artistic gymnast. She was a member of the gold medal-winning teams at the 2022 Mediterranean Games and the 2022 European Championships. Individually she is the 2022 Mediterranean Games bronze medalist on vault and 2022 European bronze medalist on floor exercise. Early life Andreoli was born in Brescia, Italy in 2006. Elisabeth Seitz
Elisabeth Seitz (born 4 November 1993) is a German artistic gymnast. She is the 2022 European champion and the 2018 World bronze medalist on the uneven bars. She is one of the only female gymnasts in history to compete the Def (full-twisting Gienger) release, and her eponymous skill, a full-twisting Maloney. Seitz has also had success in the individual all-around event, where she is the 2011 European silver medalist and an eight-time German national champion (2010–13, 2015, 2017–18, 2021). Pauline Sieglinde Schäfer or Schäfer-Betz (born 4 January 1997) is a German artistic gymnast who represented Germany at the 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games. She is the 2017 World Champion, the 2021 World silver medalist, and the 2015 World bronze medalist on the balance beam. Emma Leonie Malewski (born July 18, 2004) is a German artistic gymnast who represented Germany at the inaugural Junior World Championships. She is the 2022 European champion on the balance beam, and was part of the first German team to ever win a European team medal in women's artistic gymnastics. Kim Bui (born 20 January 1989) is a retired German artistic gymnast. She represented Germany at the 2012, 2016, and 2020 Olympic Games. She is the 2009 and 2014 German National Champion and the 2011 European bronze medalist on the uneven bars. In her final competition, she was part of the first German team to win a European team medal. Early life and education Bui was born in Tübingen in 1989 to a Vietnamese mother and a Lao father. Alice Nicole Kinsella (born 13 March 2001) is an Irish-English artistic gymnast and member of the British national gymnastics team.
