The 35th European Men's Artistic Gymnastics Championships was held from 18 to 21 August 2022 in Munich, Germany as part of the second multi-sport European Championships. There were 38 nations that sent athletes. Gymnasts from Russia and Belarus were banned due to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Olympiahalle
Olympiahalle is a multi-purpose arena located in Am Riesenfeld in Munich, Germany, part of Olympiapark. The arena is used for concerts, sporting events, exhibitions or trade fairs. The seating capacity for the arena varies from 12,150 up to 14,000. History In the past, it served as a part-time home for the defunct ice hockey team EC Hedos München. Olympiahalle opened in 1972 and was the venue for gymnastics and handball events at the 1972 Summer Olympics. The current seating capacity of 15,500 was set after a massive overhaul was completed in 2009. A new VIP area, a restaurant and an underground second arena ("Kleine Olympiahalle") with a capacity of up to 4,000 was integrated in the new complex. The stage area was also rebuilt, which contributed to the increased seating capacity and at the same time allowed faster access for stage crews. Ahmet Önder
Ahmet Önder (born 11 July 1996) is a Turkish artistic gymnast. He represented Turkey at the 2020 Olympic Games. He is the 2019 World silver medalist on the parallel bars. Early life Önder was born in Ödemiş, Turkey in 1996. He was inspired to try gymnastics after watching the 2004 Olympic Games on television. Gymnastics career 2019 Önder competed at various World Cups throughout the year. At the European Championships he placed fifth in the all-around. At the European Games he won silver on horizontal bar behind Robert Tvorogal of Lithuania. In October Önder competed at the World Championships where he won silver on parallel bars behind Joe Fraser. This medal, alongside İbrahim Çolak's gold medal on rings, were the first medals won by Turkish gymnasts at the World Championships. Kerem Şener (born 2003) is a Turkish male artistic gymnast and part of the national team. He is a member of Şavkar Gymnastics Sport Club in İzmir. Şener won the gold medal in the Parallel bars event in the JU16 division of the 4th Mediterranean Gymnastics Championship held in Athens, Greece on 27-29 September 2019. Ferhat Arıcan
Ferhat Arıcan (born 28 July 1993) is a Turkish male artistic gymnast. He represented Turkey at the 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games. At the 2020 Olympic Games he became the first Turkish gymnast to win an Olympic medal, winning bronze on the parallel bars. Personal life Arıcan was born in Konak, İzmir in 1993. He took up gymnastics when he was 9–10 years old. He studied sports administration at Ege University. Nicola Bartolini (born 7 February 1996) is an Italian artistic gymnast. He is the 2021 World Champion and 2021 European bronze medalist on floor exercise. Bartolini's early career was plagued with injury as a shoulder injury and subsequent surgery made him unable to compete at the 2016 Olympic Games. Gymnastics career 2014 Bartolini competed at the 2014 European Championships in the junior division.
