2022 European Athletics Championships
The 2022 European Athletics Championships were the 25th edition of the European Athletics Championships and were held in Munich, Germany, from 15 to 21 August 2022. They were part of the European Championships, a multi-sport tournament which brings together the existing European Championships of some of the continent's sports. Paula Radcliffe
Paula Jane Radcliffe MBE (born 17 December 1973) is a former British long-distance runner. She is a three-time winner of the London Marathon (2002, 2003, 2005), three-time New York Marathon champion (2004, 2007, 2008), and 2002 Chicago Marathon winner. She was previously the fastest female marathoner of all time, and held the Women's World Marathon Record with a time of 2:15:25 for 16 years from 2003 to 2019 when it was broken by Brigid Kosgei. Radcliffe is a former world champion in the marathon, half marathon and cross country. She has also been European champion over 10,000 metres and in cross country. On the track, Radcliffe won the 10,000 metres silver medal at the 1999 World Championships and was the 2002 Commonwealth champion at 5000 metres. Alessia Zarbo (born 11 September 2001) is a French long distance and cross country runner. In 2020, she became French national champion over 10,000 metres. Career Zarbo was a gold medallist in the 3,000 metres at the 2017 European Youth Olympic Festival in Győr, Hungary. She was a bronze medallist in the same distance at the 2018 European Athletics U18 Championships in the same city with a personal best 9:25.25. Jessica Warner-Judd (born 7 January 1995) is an English middle- and long-distance runner. She won two individual medals in the Under-20 and U23 age-group races at the European Cross Country Championships and a gold medal for the 5000 metres at the 2019 Universiade. Warner-Judd took the bronze medal for the 800 metres at the 2011 World Youth Championships, and a silver in the event at the 2012 2012 World Junior Championships. Samantha Harrison (born 1 February 1995) is a British long-distance runner. She finished sixth in the 10,000 metres at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Selamawit Dagnachew Teferi (born 24 March 1994) is an Ethiopian-born Israeli Olympic runner. She qualified to represent Israel at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo in the 5,000 meters. She has also won Israeli championships at 800 meters and 1,500 meters. Early and personal life Dagnachew was born in Ethiopia, to a non-Jewish family. She became an Israeli citizen in April 2018, on account of her marriage to an Israeli citizen.
