2022 Canada Women's Sevens
The 2022 Canada Women's Sevens was rugby sevens tournament for women's national teams that took place between 30 April and 1 May 2022 at Starlight Stadium, Langford, British Columbia, Canada as part of the 2021–22 World Rugby Women's Sevens Series. The defending champions from the 2019 Sevens Series event were New Zealand. In their third Langford Final appearance, first-time Langford champions Australia beat New Zealand 21–17 in the Final, a rematch of the 2018 and 2019 events. Hosts Canada beat the United States to finish fifth ( 12–7). It is their third back-to-back fifth placing at home. Ireland finished third, beating France 22–14. 2021–22 World Rugby Women's Sevens Series
The 2021–22 World Rugby Women's Sevens Series was the ninth edition of the global circuit for women's national rugby sevens teams, organised by World Rugby. The ninth edition was meant to be played a year earlier, but the 2021 Series was cancelled due to impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Australia won the series at the second-last event in Canada, winning four out of the six events on the tour to claim their third World Series title. France, Fiji and Ireland placed second, third and fourth, respectively, which was the best finish achieved by all three teams in the World Series. The 2021–22 series was affected by ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, with two of the eleven core teams not able to compete in all six events as a result. France women's national rugby sevens team was champion of Europe in 2007 (European Women's Sevens Championship). They competed at the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens, their qualification being determined by their placement in the 2016–17 World Rugby Women's Sevens Series. They met defending champions, New Zealand, in the finals and were defeated 29 - 0. France qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo after winning the Final Olympic Qualification Tournament in Monaco. 2018 USA Women's Sevens
The 2018 USA Women's Sevens was the first tournament of the 2018–19 World Rugby Women's Sevens Series. It was played on 20–21 October 2018 at Infinity Park in Glendale, Colorado, the first time the USA Women's Sevens was held at the venue. Format The teams were drawn into three pools of four teams each. Each team played every other team in their pool once. The top two teams from each pool advanced to the Cup/Plate brackets while the top 2 third place teams also competed in the Cup/Plate. The ''Times Colonist'' is an English-language daily newspaper in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The Russian women's national rugby sevens team (russian: Женская сборная России по регби-7) is a women's rugby team in Europe. Since 2013, it is dominating the European Championships, winning the trophy seven times. Internationally, Russia's best performance was in 2013, finishing in the quarterfinals. The team was runner-up at the 2015 Canada Women's Sevens, after defeating Australia in quarter-finals and France in semifinals. The New Zealand national rugby sevens team competes in the World Rugby Sevens Series, Rugby World Cup Sevens, Summer Olympic Games and the Commonwealth Games. They have won a record twelve World Rugby Sevens Series titles. The team has been officially known as the All Blacks Sevens since 1 June 2012. The team played for the first time at the 1973 International Seven-A-Side Tournament. 2020 Sydney Women's Sevens
The 2020 Sydney Women's Sevens was the fifth tournament within the 2019–20 World Rugby Women's Sevens Series and the fourth edition of the Australian Women's Sevens. It was held over the first weekend of February 2020 at Bankwest Stadium in Sydney and was run alongside the men's tournament. In the final, New Zealand claimed their fourth tournament victory in a row as they defeated Canada 33–7. Format The teams were drawn into three pools of four teams each. Japan Women's National Rugby Sevens Team
The Japan women's national rugby sevens team has competed in competitions such as the Hong Kong Women's Sevens. In 2012-13 they played two World Series tournaments, resulting 13th in China. In the 2013–14 season they resulted 7th at São Paulo and 8th at Atlanta. They were not invited to any World Series tournament in 2014–15. Japan played the full 2015–16 World Series, with a best result of 9th at the Dubai Sevens, and finished 11th in the overall standings. Japan qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics after winning the 2015 ARFU Women's Sevens Championships. The team won over Kenya but lost twice to Brazil, finishing 10th in the tournament. The Fiji women's national rugby sevens team represents Fiji at regional and international sevens tournaments. They have won three Pacific Games gold medals, two Oceania Championships, a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games and a bronze medal at the Summer Olympics. They also compete in the World Rugby Sevens Series and Rugby World Cup Sevens. History Fiji won the gold medal at the 2011 Pacific Games in Nouméa, New Caledonia.
