The men's doubles tournament of the 2022 BWF World Championships took place from 22 to 28 August 2022 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium in Tokyo. Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium
is a sporting complex in Sendagaya, Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. Built in 1954 for the World Wrestling Championship, it was also used as the venue for gymnastics at the 1964 Summer Olympics, and hosted the table tennis competition at the 2020 Summer Olympics. The gymnasium was rebuilt to a futuristic design created by Pritzker Prize winner Fumihiko Maki from 1986 to 1990. The gymnasium is a one-minute walk from Sendagaya Station on the Chūō-Sōbu Line and Kokuritsu Kyogijo Station on the Toei Oedo Line. Description and events The main arena includes a large indoor arena that hosts national and international sporting events. The arena holds 10,000 people (6,000 fixed, 4,000 temporary). is a Japanese badminton player affiliated with Tonami team. He was the men's doubles silver medalist at the 2019 World Championships and the men's doubles gold medalist at the 2021 World Championships, being first ever Japanese men's doubles to become world champions. Goh V Shem
Goh V Shem (; born Goh Wei Shem, 20 May 1989) is a Malaysian badminton player in the doubles event. He was partnered with Tan Wee Kiong after their outstanding performance at the 2014 Thomas Cup. Together, Goh and Tan won the gold medal for the men's doubles event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games as well as all their matches in the mixed team event, helping Malaysia retain the gold medal for the third consecutive time. They also won the bronze medal at the 2014 Asian Games and the silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics, thus making them the second ever Malaysian men's doubles pair to win the silver medal at the Olympic Games 20 years after the feat was achieved by Cheah Soon Kit and Yap Kim Hock in 1996 Atlanta. Marvin Emil Seidel (; born 9 November 1995) is a German badminton player. He was the bronze medalist at the 2013 European Junior Championships in the boys' doubles, and a silver medalist at the 2021 European Championships in the men's doubles event. Mark Lamsfuß
Mark Lamsfuß (born 19 April 1994) is a German badminton player and plays for the BC Wipperfeld. He and his partner, Isabel Lohau won a bronze medal in mixed doubles at the 2022 BWF World Championships. Career Lamsfuß started playing badminton at aged 3, and in 2013 he won the Dutch Open Junior tournament in the mixed doubles event partnered with Franziska Volkmann. He and Volkmann also won bronze at the 2013 European Junior Badminton Championships. Nur Izzudin
Nur Izzuddin bin Mohd Rumsani (born 11 November 1997) is a Malaysian badminton player. He won the 2022 German Open in the men's doubles event partnered with Goh Sze Fei. Goh Sze Fei
Goh Sze Fei ( zh, t=吳世飛, p=Wú Shìfēi; born 18 August 1997) is a Malaysian badminton player. He won the 2022 German Open in the men's doubles event partnered with Nur Izzuddin, their first BWF World Tour title. Early life Goh finished his primary school in SJK(C) Chung Hua Tampin, Negeri Sembilan. During his secondary school period, which was in Sekolah Mengengah Kebangsaan Tunku Besar at Tampin, he managed to get recruited into Badminton Association of Malaysia during his secondary school period to be trained as a national player. Goh comes from a typical Malaysia Chinese family based in Tampin, Negeri Sembilan. There are 4 siblings in his family and he is the youngest among the siblings. Seo Seung-jae (Hangul: 서승재; born 4 September 1997) is a South Korean badminton player. In 2014, he competed at the Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China. In 2017, he helped the Korean national team compete at the 2017 Sudirman Cup and won the trophy and the gold medal at that tournament. Choi Sol-gyu
Choi Sol-gyu (; born 5 August 1995) is a South Korean badminton player. He was a part of the Korean national team that won the 2017 Sudirman Cup. Career Choi has been best known as a mixed doubles player since his back-to-back titles at the Asian Junior Championships in 2012 and 2013. However, as a junior, he was also successful in boys' singles, in which he won the under-17 title at the 2011 Surabaya Cup, and the Malaysia International Youth U19 in both 2012 and 2013. Teo Ee Yi (; born 4 April 1993) is a Malaysian badminton player. Teo won a bronze medal at the 2021 World Championships with his partner Ong Yew Sin. In the junior event, he captured the golds medal at the 2011 World Junior Championships in the team and boys' doubles events. Career Teo won his first Grand Prix title at the 2016 Bitburger Open with his partner, Ong Yew Sin. Anders Skaarup Rasmussen (born 15 February 1989) is a Danish badminton player.
