2022 BAL Playoffs
The 2022 BAL Playoffs was the second edition of the playoffs of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) and was the concluding tournament of the 2022 BAL season. The playoffs began on 21 May 2022 and ended on 28 May 2022 with the Finals. For a second consecutive season, all playoffs games were played at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda. The official schedule was announced on 8 February 2022. Quarterfinals :''All times are in the local Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).'' Petro de Luanda vs. AS Salé Petro de Luanda and AS Salé were meeting each other in the BAL for the third time. It was a re-match of the 2021 quarterfinals that was won by Petro. BK Arena
BK Arena (formerly known as Kigali Arena until 2022) is an multi-purpose indoor arena in Kigali, Rwanda, used mostly for basketball and volleyball matches. Built and finished in 2019, it hosts sporting events and concerts. It is the biggest indoor arena in East Africa and is located next to the Amahoro Stadium. The arena is regularly used for games of the Rwanda Basketball League (RBL). It was constructed by SUMMA, a Turkish international contractor. In 2021 Kigali Arena signed a contract with Rwandan singer Bruce Melodie a deal of 150 million Rwandan franc, RWF, as its brand ambassador for the next three years with a shared objective to position the venue as a regional entertainment hub. Carlos Morais (basketball)
Carlos Edilson Alcântara Morais (; born 16 October 1985) is an Angolan basketball player for the Petro de Luanda of the Angolan Basketball League. Standing at , he plays as shooting guard, or small forward. Morais is one of the most decorated players ever in Angolan basketball, as he has won nine Angolan League titles and was the league's MVP once (in 2007) and scoring leader four times. He spent two years in Portugal for Benfica, winning the national treble in 2017. Representing the Angola national team, Morais has won four AfroBasket tournaments and has played at the 2008 Olympics. Jean Jacques "J. J." Wilson Nshobozwabyosenumukiza (born 26 June 1998) is a Rwandan basketball player who currently plays for REG on loan from APR of the Rwanda Basketball League (RBL). Cleveland Joseph "Pancake" Thomas Jr. (born December 2, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for the Dorados de Chihuahua. High school career Thomas attended Scotlandville Magnet High School. As a senior, he averaged 18 points, eight rebounds, three steals and two assists per game, earning Class 5A All-State honors. Rwanda Energy Group BBC, commonly known as REG, is a Rwandan basketball club based in Kigali. It is owned and named after the company Rwanda Energy Group Limited. It plays in the Rwanda Basketball League (RBL), the highest tier of basketball in Rwanda. REG has won the national championship thrice, in 2017, 2021 and 2022. Ousmane Dramé (born 25 August 1992) is a French footballer who playsas a winger for Portuguese club C.D. Cova da Piedade. Career Early career Of Malian descent, Dramé began his career playing for the Centre de Formation de Paris, a youth sporting club designed to cater only to football players under the age of 19.
