The 2022 Arkansas State Red Wolves football team respresented the Arkansas State University as a member of the Sun Belt Conference during the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They were be led by head coach Butch Jones, in his second season with the team. The Red Wolves played their home games at Centennial Bank Stadium in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Previous season The Red Wolves finished the 2021 season with a 2–10 record (1–7 in conference), finishing fifth in the Sun Belt West Division. The Sun Belt Conference (SBC) is a collegiate athletic conference that has been affiliated with the NCAA's Division I since 1976. Originally a non-football conference, the Sun Belt began sponsoring football in 2001. Its football teams participate in the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS).
