2022 Alpine Skiing World Cup – Men's Overall
The Men's Overall 2021–22 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup, World Cup 2021–22 consisted of 37 events in 5 disciplines: downhill, Super-G, giant slalom, slalom, and parallel. The sixth discipline, Alpine combined, had all of its events in the 2021–22 season cancelled due to the schedule disruption cased by the COVID-19 pandemic, which also happened in 2020-21. The season was interrupted by the Alpine skiing at the 2022 Winter Olympics, 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China (at the Xiaohaituo Alpine Skiing Field) from 6–19 February 2022. After 34 events, Marco Odermatt of Switzerland had clinched the season championship. Les Trois Vallées (; ''The Three Valleys'') is a ski region in the Tarentaise Valley in the Savoie department of Southeastern France, to the south of the town of Moûtiers, partly in Vanoise National Park. Since 1971, it has been possible to ski the interlinked valleys using a single ski pass. Thus, Les Trois Vallées is the largest connected ski area in the world which is linked solely by ski lifts and slopes. Dominik Paris (born 14 April 1989) is an Italian alpine ski racer, who specializes in speed events of downhill and super-G. He was the world champion in super-G, as the gold medalist in 2019 at Åre, Sweden. Vincent Kriechmayr (born 1 October 1991) is an Austrian World Cup alpine ski racer and specializes in the speed events of super-G and downhill. 2022 Alpine Skiing World Cup – Men's Slalom
The Men's Slalom World Cup 2021/2022 consisted of 10 events including the final. However, the slalom scheduled in Zagreb on 5 January was first delayed until 6 January due to bad weather and then cancelled in the middle of the first run (after 19 skiers) due to additional bad weather, leading to its removal from the schedule. Eventually, however, it was rescheduled for Flachau on 9 March, restoring the season to 10 events. Going into the break for the 2022 Winter Olympics, the leader after two-thirds of the events was Lucas Braathen from Norway, who held a slim lead over his countryman Sebastian Foss-Solevåg. The Men's Giant Slalom World Cup 2021/2022 consisted of eight events including the final. At the halfway point of the season (five events), Marco Odermatt of Switzerland had opened a commanding lead in the discipline by winning four of the races and finished second in the other. The remainder of the season was held in March, after the 2022 Winter Olympics, but in the first post-Olympic event, Odermatt clinched the crystal globe for the season championship.
