2022 Alabama House Of Representatives Election
The 2022 Alabama House of Representatives elections were held on November 8, 2022. The Republican and Democratic primaries were held on May 24, 2022, and any races in which no candidate exceeded one-half plus one of the total vote advanced to a runoff on June 21, 2022. This is the first election cycle since 2002 in which the Libertarian Party of Alabama will be on the ballot, as they exceeded the threshold for petition signatures needed to gain ballot access in Alabama. Libertarian candidates were nominated by party convention. All 105 of Alabama's state representatives were up for reelection. In Alabama, members of both the House of Representatives and the Senate serve four year terms, running in years corresponding with presidential midterm elections. The Alabama State House of Representatives is the lower house of the Alabama Legislature, the state legislature of state of Alabama. The House is composed of 105 members representing an equal number of districts, with each constituency containing at least 42,380 citizens. There are no term limits in the House. A resident of Jasper, Alabama, she represents district 13 and is a member of the Republican party. The '' Tuscaloosa News '' is a daily newspaper serving Tuscaloosa, Alabama, United States, and the surrounding area in west central Alabama. In 2012, Halifax Media Group acquired the ''Tuscaloosa News''. Prior to that, the paper's owner was The New York Times Company. Richard Allen Wingo (born July 16, 1956) is an American Republican politician and a former American football linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He played five seasons for the Green Bay Packers from 1979 to 1984. He was drafted by the Packers in the seventh round of the 1979 NFL Draft out of the University of Alabama. He was a part of one of the most famous plays in college football history, "The Goal Line Stand" in Alabama's Sugar Bowl victory over Penn State in 1979. He played for college coach Paul "Bear" Bryant. From Pee Wee football through high school, he led every team he played for in tackles. ''The Anniston Star'' is the daily newspaper serving Anniston, Alabama, and the surrounding six-county region. Average Sunday circulation in September 2004 was 26,747.
