2021–22 Wake Forest Demon Deacons Men's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Wake Forest Demon Deacons men's basketball team represented Wake Forest University during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Demon Deacons were led by second-year head coach Steve Forbes and played their home games at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Demon Deacons finished the season 25–10 overall and 13–7 in ACC play, to finish in fifth place. They lost to Boston College in the Second Round of the ACC tournament. They received an at-large bid to the NIT, where they defeated Towson and VCU in the first two rounds. Their season then ended in a quarterfinal loss to Texas A&M. Steve Forbes (basketball)
Steve Forbes (born March 22, 1965) is an American men's college basketball head coach for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. His Division I experience includes five years at East Tennessee State, two seasons at Texas A&M, one year at Illinois State, three years at Louisiana Tech, and two years at Idaho. Early life A native of Lone Tree, Iowa, Forbes graduated from Southern Arkansas University with a degree in secondary education in 1988. A former baseball student-athlete for the Muleriders, Forbes spent one year at his alma mater as the sports information director before embarking on a coaching career. Longwood Lancers Men's Basketball
The Longwood Lancers men's basketball team is the Division I basketball team that represents Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia. Since 2012, the team has competed in the Big South Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Their current head coach is Ronnie Thomas. Ian Rogers DuBose (born January 16, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for Manchester Basketball of the Super League Basketball (SLB). He played college basketball for the Houston Baptist Huskies and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Early life DuBose attended the Ravenscroft School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society. He averaged 15 points and 2.6 assists per game as a junior. As a senior, he averaged 20.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game. 2021 National Invitation Tournament
The 2021 National Invitation Tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 16 NCAA Division I men's college basketball teams that had not been selected to participate in the 2021 NCAA tournament. The Tournament began on March 17 and ended on March 28. All rounds were played at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas or the UNT Coliseum in Denton, Texas. First-round games began on Wednesday, March 17, and was played through Saturday, March 20. Quarterfinals also took place Thursday, March 25. The semifinals and championship took place Saturday and Sunday, March 27 and 28.
