2021–22 Tulane Green Wave Men's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Tulane Green Wave men's basketball team represented Tulane University during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Green Wave, led by third-year head coach Ron Hunter, played their home games at Devlin Fieldhouse in New Orleans, Louisiana as seventh-year members of the American Athletic Conference. They finished the season 14–15, 10–8 in AAC Play to finish in 5th place. They defeated Temple in the quarterfinals of the AAC tournament before losing in the semifinals to Houston. Previous season In a season limited due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Green Wave 10–13, 4–13 in AAC play to finish in 10th place. In the AAC tournament, they defeated Tulsa in the first round before losing to Houston in the quarterfinals. Ron Hunter
Ronald Eugene Hunter (born April 7, 1964) is an American college basketball coach and the men's basketball head coach of the Tulane University Green Wave. His son, R. J. Hunter, was a first-round NBA draft pick for the Boston Celtics. High school Hunter attended and played for Chaminade Julienne High School in Dayton, Ohio from 1978 to 1982. Coaching career IUPUI From 1994 to 2011, Hunter served as the head coach at IUPUI. Under his direction, the team advanced from an NAIA program to NCAA Division I. In its third season as a Division I program, Hunter led IUPUI to its first, and thus far only, NCAA tournament appearance in 2003. On January 24, 2008, Hunter coached a game against Oakland University while barefoot. Walker is a city in Livingston Parish, Louisiana, United States. As of the 2020 census the population was placed at 6,374 (up from 6,138 in 2010), making Walker and Denham Springs the only parish municipalities classified as cities. Vanderbilt Commodores Men's Basketball
The Vanderbilt Commodores men's basketball team represents Vanderbilt University in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Commodores have won three SEC regular-season titles (1965, 1974 and 1993) and two SEC Tournament championships (1951 and 2012).
