2021–22 Texas Tech Red Raiders Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Texas Tech Red Raiders basketball team represented Texas Tech University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season as a member of the Big 12 Conference. The Red Raiders were led by first-year coach Mark Adams. They played their home games at the United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock, Texas. Mark Adams (basketball, Born May 1956)
Mark Adams (born May 14, 1956) is an American college basketball coach who is currently an assistant coach at Ole Miss. He previously served as the coach of the Texas Tech Red Raiders men's basketball team. Coaching career After playing basketball at South Plains College, Adams transferred to Texas Tech, where he served as a student assistant to head coach Gerald Myers. After graduating from Texas Tech in 1979, Adams landed his first college coaching job at Clarendon College, where he stayed for two seasons and posted 46 victories. From 1983 to 1987 he served as the head coach at Wayland Baptist, where went 100–39 overall and led the Pioneers to the 1985 NAIA title game. Adams would move on to become the head coach at West Texas A&M where he'd guide the Buffaloes to two NCAA Division II tournament appearances and compile an overall record of 108–40. Gate City, Virginia
Gate City is a town in Scott County, Virginia, United States. The population was 2,043 at the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Scott County. Mac McClung
Matthew Ford "Mac" McClung (born January 6, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for the Orlando Magic of the National Basketball Association (NBA), on a two-way contract with the Osceola Magic of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the Georgetown Hoyas and the Texas Tech Red Raiders. He was a consensus three-star recruit and among the highest-ranked high school players in Virginia. He is one of two players to be a three-time NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion, alongside Nate Robinson, and the only player to win three consecutive Slam Dunk Contests. Chris Beard (basketball)
Christopher Michael Beard (born February 18, 1973) is an American basketball coach who is the head men's coach at University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). He also previously served as head coach at Texas, Texas Tech, Little Rock, Angelo State, and McMurry. Beard graduated from high school from McCullough High School in The Woodlands, Texas. He was a manager at Texas under former Longhorns coach Tom Penders, graduating in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology. He received a Masters of Education from Abilene Christian University where he served as a graduate assistant in 1998. Under Beard's watch, the Texas Tech Red Raiders made the deepest NCAA Tournament runs in school history. The 2020–21 Arkansas Razorbacks men's basketball team represented the University of Arkansas during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by second-year head coach Eric Musselman and played its home games at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, Arkansas, as a member of the Southeastern Conference. The 2021 Phillips 66 Big 12 men's basketball tournament was a postseason men's basketball tournament for the Big 12 Conference.
