2021–22 Super Smash (men's Cricket)
The 2021–22 Dream11 Men's Super Smash (named after the competition's sponsor Dream11) was the seventeenth season of the Men's Super Smash Twenty20 cricket tournament that was played in New Zealand. In July 2021, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) named all the squads for the domestic teams ahead of the 2021–22 season, and confirmed that the matches would mainly be played at the weekend. On 27 October 2021, NZC confirmed the full fixtures for the tournament. The Wellington Firebirds were the defending champions. Prior to the tournament, the Northern Districts T20 team, previously known as the Northern Knights, was rebranded as the Northern Brave. Northern Brave finished top of the group stage to secure a place in the final of the tournament at their home ground of Seddon Park in Hamilton. Otago Cricket Team
The Otago cricket team, nicknamed the Volts since the 1997–98 season, are a New Zealand first-class cricket team which first played representative cricket in 1864. The team represents the Otago, Southland and North Otago regions of New Zealand's South Island. Their main governing board is the Otago Cricket Association which is one of six major associations that make up New Zealand Cricket. The team plays most of its home games at the University Oval in Dunedin, but occasionally plays games at the Events Centre in Queenstown, Queen's Park Ground in Invercargill and Molyneux Park in Alexandra. The team plays first-class, List A and Twenty20 matches against other New Zealand provincial sides, although in the past has also played against touring sides. Not Out
In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batter is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress. Occurrence At least one batter is not out at the end of every innings, because once ten batters are out, the eleventh has no partner to bat on with so the innings ends. Usually two batters finish not out if the batting side declares in first-class cricket, and often at the end of the scheduled number of overs in limited overs cricket. Dane Cleaver (born 1 January 1992) is a New Zealand cricketer who plays for Central Districts. He made his international debut for the New Zealand cricket team in July 2022. He is the cousin of New Zealand captain Kane Williamson. Career Central Districts On 21 March 2011, Cleaver made his first-class debut for Central Districts in a rain-affected draw, where only 8.2 overs were possible in the match. Hagley Oval
Hagley Oval is a cricket ground in Hagley Park in the central city of Christchurch, New Zealand. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1867, when Canterbury cricket team hosted Otago cricket team. Canterbury used the ground infrequently from then through until the 1920s, but hardly stopped during World War I. The first match in the Plunket Shield was played there in December 1907, when Canterbury played Auckland.
