The 2021–22 season is Peterborough United's 88th year in their history and first season back in the Championship since the 2012–13 following promotion last season. Along with the league, the club will also compete in the FA Cup and the EFL Cup. The season covers the period from 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022. Peterborough () is a cathedral city in Cambridgeshire, east of England. It is the largest part of the City of Peterborough unitary authority district (which covers a larger area than Peterborough itself). It was part of Northamptonshire until 1974, when county boundary change meant the city became part of Cambridgeshire instead. The city is north of London, on the River Nene which flows into the North Sea to the north-east. In 2020 the built-up area subdivision had an estimated population of 179,349. David Cornell
David Joseph "Dai" Cornell (born 28 March 1991) is a Welsh professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for club Preston North End. He has represented the Wales under-21 team. Club career Swansea City After progressing through Swansea City's Academy, Cornell was included in Swansea's senior squad for their 2008 pre-season tour of Spain. However the 17-year old's progress was halted when he suffered a serious wrist injury on tour. Daniel Butler (born 26 August 1994) is an English footballer who plays as a wing back for side Stevenage. Career Portsmouth Early career Butler joined Portsmouth's youth categories in 2004, aged 10, and signed a two-year scholarship with Pompey on 15 July 2010. Ronnie Lee Edwards (born 28 March 2003) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for EFL League One club Peterborough United. Club career Edwards joined Barnet at the age of nine, and progressed through the club's academy, captaining the under-18s. Aged sixteen, he made his senior debut when he captained a young Bees side in a Middlesex Senior Cup game against Staines Town on 17 December 2019.
