Men's England Hockey League
The Men's England Hockey League is a field hockey league organized by England Hockey that features men's teams from England and Wales. Format Regular season There are 62 teams in the league, the top tier consists of a Premier Division of twelve teams. Below this is tier two, which consists of two ten-team Division One regional teams (North and South). The third tier consists of three regional conferences North, West, and East, all consisting of ten teams. The teams play each other home and away during an 18 week season from September to April. The league has a winter break between December and February. The winners of the Premier Division regular season automatically qualify to play in the Euro Hockey League. League Finals Weekend The top four Premier Division teams from the regular season qualify for the League Finals Weekend. University Of Exeter Hockey Club
The University of Exeter Men's Hockey Club is a field hockey club based in Exeter, Devon, England. The club plays its matches at the Sports Park on the University of Exeter's Streatham Campus. There is a water based pitch and a hybrid pitch. The Men's 1st XI play in the Premier Division of the Men's England Hockey League, which is the highest division in Great Britain. The club fields six men's teams which compete in BUCS leagues on Wednesdays and in local and National leagues at the weekend. A seventh XI was formed in 2014, serving as a Development XI for those working towards a berth in one of the six regular outfits, which now also participates in the local weekend league. Cardiff & Met Hockey Club, previously known as Cardiff & UWIC Hockey Club, is a professional field hockey club based at the Sport Wales National Centre in Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, Wales. They play in the Men's England Hockey League. It was established in November, 1896 and today forms the hockey section of Cardiff Athletic Club with its headquarters at Cardiff Arms Park. The teams play at the Sport Wales National Centre and Cardiff Metropolitan University. It is one of the oldest sporting organisations in the whole of Wales. History The club was established in November 1896 as the Roath Hockey Club. The club was one of the first hockey clubs in Cardiff. Loughborough Students' Hockey Club
Loughborough Students' Hockey Club is the field hockey club of Loughborough University. Recent history The men's 1st XI compete in the Men's England Hockey League and were winners of the BUCS championships for eight of the past thirteen years. They have also won the National Indoor Championships four times since 2003, as well as gold (2004) and bronze (2005) at the European Indoor Challenge, and were quarter-finalists in the Euro Hockey League in 2008. Havant Hockey Club is a field hockey club based in Havant, Hampshire, England. The club was established in 1907. The men's 1st XI play in the National Men's Conference West. The club fields men's teams and ladies' teams as well as a junior section teams. Many of the club's players have gone on to earn international caps at both senior and junior level. Southgate Hockey Club is a field hockey club based at Southgate Hockey Centre in Trent Park, near Oakwood in London. The men's 1st XI play in the Men's England Hockey League. The club has 9 men's sides, 5 ladies' sides and a large junior section. History The club was formed in 1886. Matches were initially played in Broomfield Park, Palmers Green; in 1890 the club relocated to the Walker Ground on Waterfall Road. In order to meet the challenge created by the introduction of artificial grass pitches, the club began hiring pitches away from the Walker Ground from around 1985. After a search for a new location, the club relocated to Southgate Hockey Centre during the 1997/98 season. Old Cranleighan Hockey Club also known as OC Hockey Club is a field hockey club that is based on Portsmouth Road, in Thames Ditton, Surrey. The club was founded in 1928 for former pupils of Cranleigh School and was originally a men's only club based on the fact that the school was a boys only school. Girls started at the school during the 1970s and the club introduced ladies teams some years later. The club runs 15 teams including five men's teams with the first XI playing in the Men's England Hockey League Division One South. There are five women's teams with the first XI playing in the Surrey League.
